New Elites, new Class

I have been playing for a while and have a level 80 for a new Class, I currently have necro, ranger and thief at level 80 and a guardian on the way. I want a different class that I can play with the new elite spec and has a good mix of range and close up attacks (as the new enemy's like to run away, to my chagrin) I am Thinking Warrior, ele or Engi, it would be usful if they help blast though HoT content as well as I hate maguma. so good sole survivability would be nice as well, either kill them before they can kill me or general tankiness.

You can give Holosmith a shot. You can try hybrid condi build using double pistols or you can go sword and board, as melee Holo has enough gap closers/chase for pve content. it had decent survivability as well.There is also warrior greatbow build, but I can't say much about it as I don't play warriors.Don't think Elementalists are great choice if you are looking for tankiness, but I haven't played one in years. If I remember, they are more about mobility and finesse than outright survavibility.

Hey Totalkill, I agree that Holosmith would a really good choice for you to make for two reasons. First off you described wanting a class that can do close and long range damage. Second the Holosmith has many escape utilities, skills and traits. Both of the points match the description of what you wanted in a profession and an elite specialisations. Ultimately though the choice is yours to make we can only give our best advice. Good luck picking your new main.

Although a Weaver would also be a great choice if you have a necro that you could use the gear from... Wink
