Anet, this is how you properly buff condi engi

Bad idea, in my opinion. Condi engi has good dps because it has a lot of different conditions- i.e., many skills are getting cast. If you put more conditions on the auto, you'll butcher other skill prioritization (make them less worthy of casting). It would be easier dps, but it wouldn't make sense to do from a build variety perspective. If they wanted to do it, i would recommend adding burning every hit with a very low duration so that it could be used as filler dps. Similar to the way the nade kit is being used currently when synergized with the Shrapnel grandmaster trait. i think it would be an unnecessary balancing nightmare tho.

What would be more reasonable is to burn on the first time it hits per auto attack. or maybe apply burning if it hits at least once.

if they reduced the hits to 5 from 10 and made it a 0.25 duration burn it would be okay

@Obtena.7952 said:They could, but that would ruin what's awesome about the AA on FT. So ruin a strong aspect of the weaponto implement a half-baked idea about how to 'properly' buff condi engi? I don't think so.

remember when flame blast didnt have burning and could do some relatively large crits because i do so its not the first time something has been changed to support some half baked idea of making condi engi stronger, scaling the auto off condition damage is a far better idea tho.

I remember that too ... but I don't believe adding burning to it was a half baked idea to improve condi engi. If anything, it supports the theme of swapping kits to access skills that further support builds people wanted to make; before the change, it was a pretty hard sell to swap to a flamethrower as a condi engi.

It means its balanced around high risk high reward. Have you ever ran a flamethrower through a zerg that was retaliation loaded? I didnt, cause I never made it halfway through. You got things doing over more then half your health in half a second anyways, burn per hit in this speed of the game is perfectly fine cause it comes with a drawback, like all game design should focus on.
