crazyhusky.2985
With Ray of Judgement's change we no longer have boons on focus. The condi cleanse is gone too. They could have at least given us a boon or a condition to replace it.If they want to make the focus more power based then what they need to is to tweak the other focus skill, "Shield of Wrath" a little.Give Shield of Wrath both Retaliation and Aegis so we have boon on the focus that does something for us.This way both Dragonhunter and Core guardian will benefit from it with the way the meta builds current are.I think Shield of Wrath should be changed to this." Create a shield to block the next three attacks and give yourself Retaliation. If the shield is not destroyed, it explodes damaging nearby foes and gives you Aegis. "Since both Dragonhunter and Core guardian use Radiance for the meta builds having a new way to gain Retaliation would help a lot, especially for Dragonhunter. As there isn't many ways to gain Retaliation as a Dragonhunter since it needs zeal traits. For Core guardians this will help them get aegis back on them if they lost it, for the "Unscathed Contender" trait. however it comes at the risk of not being hit a few times. A risky reward. Its rather bad that Shield of Wrath got only a 1 second buff, with the cooldown being 35, from 36. it's not even noticable, due to it has a long cooldown. At least make a change to the skill that would help us and be more beneficial, then a 1 second reduced cooldown...Do you guys agree? Arcaedus.7290
Aegis would be redundant since Anet refuses to rework how multiple blocks at once can all be consumed by a single attack. By this, I mean if you had focus 5, aegis and were casting mace 3 all at the same time, and someone hit you once, you would lose one charge on focus 5, lose aegis, and mace 3's counter attack portion would all go off even though you only blocked one attack. Which would cause them to tweak Protector's Strike as well.HOWEVER...I can a way suggest how to change how Protector's Strike, without it clashing with Shield of Wrath.Which is to change Protector's Strike so it work like Mesmar/Chrono counters and phantasm spawns work. (Echo of Memory into Deja Vu, and also like Illusionary Riposte into Counter Blade)If the foe hits you or protected allies while you have Protector's Strike's shield up the attack Mace 3 changes to a counter move for a little bit, In which the move does the mace 3's counter attack portion and buffs. In other words the counter attack portion doesn't go off by itself anymore, you have to activate the counter. This way you have the option to counter attack if you want to or keep the shields up, so it blocks the Shield of Wrath's shields allowing the aegis to come from shield of wrath rather than the counter of Protector's Strike.I intended it to be use with Scepter since its the meta, but with Mace these added tweaks focus and mace, would allow guardians a nice to way to defend themselves from attacks this way for a few seconds.Could even make a Healing Bunker build out of it that would focus on blocking and healing, using aegis. Been hoping they would rework mace just a little bit since it's not that great of a weapon outside of protector's strike (which has a considerable CD).Highly doubt they'll ever rework multiple blocks being consumed by a single strike though. This is an issue that really is only problematic for guards since not many other classes have more than 1 kind of block they can use at a time. This is an issue that really is only problematic for guards since not many other classes have more than 1 kind of block they can use at a time. I used mace a long time when i started out, I feel with nerf to staff, they should buff Mace's healing on Faithful Strike and Symbol of Faith, to allow Guardian to become a close ranged melee healer or just buff its speed and damage a little.I agree as the "defensive" class of the game, why does Guardian not have access to a trait that allows it to become immune to damage but for some reason Warrior, Ranger and Engineer have these. The elite skill Renewed Focus that makes Guardian invulnerable for 3, with a 90 sec cooldown, which other classes have BUT their cooldowns on the moves are a lot lower and have a slightly longer invulnerable duration like Ranger's and Warrior. If they aren't going to have to rework how multiple blocks for Guardian's. I think they should give guardian more blocking effects or a way to stack aegis or gain the barrier buff something to make it more defensive instead.Personally I feel like Guardian should get its own form of Aegis which could come from Virtue of Courage,This could allow it to be the only class able to stack Aegis up to 5 times.Allowing guardian to stack aegis so some triats are better as they can trigger more often or stay on guard if it doesnt get hit.Or Instead an aegis Barrier that when aegis shatters it gives you barrier equal to 33% or 50% of your health.Again Barrier is a defensive buff yet Guardian has no way to use this buff. Yet scourge, Engineer and Ele get it.Maybe they should do could do that to Dragonhunter's Shield of Courage passive to make it more defensive, have it so DH gains barrier when any form of aegis ends on it, so long as the passive effect of Shield of Courage is still there. It'll give it something to Dragonhunter, which Base or Firebrand dont have. However I am thinking it might be a little too good have as a default on Dragonhunter, so giving it as triat instead, Get rid of Heavy light and put on the longbow by default then replace that Grandmaster triat something new entitrly, doing that effect, it'll be a nice defensive trait. It been 2 years since dragonhunter had any changes to it and it needs something new, DPS wise Dragonhunter is falling behind Base guard. Any changes to guardian in the past 2 years have only been to Base or firebrand.

(just picture if focus had 8 secs of Retaliation )
