It is odd indeed. If you use a thief the hits from it doesn't apply Venom either.

Did this last week. Sohothin counted as damage for me - I never switched out to normal weapons. Encountered no bugs for this achievement at all, so poss something else in play if still being experienced

You also have to get all the way to the end platform for it to trigger. It doesn't trigger upon the last pylon being destroyed.

if you hit stuff with sohothin you don't go into combat mode, and arcdps doesn't track it
