Do you think it would be cool to be able to craft Ascended trinkets?

If it gave us an alternative way to get ascended jewellery with HoT and PoF stats then yes. I know people keep talking about how quick and easy it is to farm the LS3 maps for HoT stats but having done it once it's not something I'm keen to repeat. I thought crafting the armour was expensive, but I'd much rather do that than spend hours farming the jewellery again.

(I'd also like to be able to upgrade the Hero's Band to ascended so I can keep using it and ascended jewellery crafting would be a great way to do that. But I realise that's a pretty niche request since not many people use celestial stats and only some of those will have the Hero's Band.)

Really really really cool no, but if they costed a lot, than it could be an alternative way.The point is that if you give an easy way to craft them, very few people will probably buy and play LW3. Or maybe... you could buy the recipe only in the LW maps. That would make sense.

I'd like jeweler to go up to the full 500 by being able to craft ascended trinkets. That being said, I don't think it will happen like that at this point. Ascended crafting for weapons and armors were introduced where there weren't many alternatives to get that gear. After time, ANet added many different ways to obtain ascended weapons or armor. Anet also introduced various ways to get ascended trinkets or backpieces, most of them not requiring you to do any hard content like raids or fractals. At this point, just adding ascended trinkets to the jeweler would not appeal to many ppl as there are more convenient alternatives.Maybe if they added infusions to the profession, something could be done to make the push to 500 worth it.

Pretty much what I was thinking, but the mats would be crazy crazy expensive to preserve the value of existing super rare infusions.

The obvious idea for Jewelers would be craft ascended jewels , but that would require additional slots being added to ascended gear which will only exacerbate the power creep.

The only way it could make "lw maps pointless" is if the materials required for the crafting would be easier to get than stuff like winterberries which seems to be a very irrational fear.

The only reason people are doing something on lw maps, excluding Istan, is ascended trinkets. But that doesn't explain how "it will make lw maps pointless" and the fact that you purposely left out the rest of my post where I addressed this part just shows that you know how nonsensical that is.

  • Really cool? No
  • Convenient? Sure.
  • Worth ANet's time to design/implement/test? almost certainly not.

What I'd rather see them do is create an entirely new purpose for Jeweler, ideally that offers strong sinks for unused mats of all sorts.

  • Infusions
  • Transmutation charges or charges for the maybe-someday custom wardrobe templates
  • Stat swapping crystals

(Those are meant to be illustrative of the idea that there might be other, potentially more interesting uses for the profession than producing something already obtained easily from other sources.)

To extend the reutility of a map, people need a reason to return that is not just history. And why do they need people on those maps? because you have content and meta made for groups.

Nowadays there is the aurora and the trinkets. If they make trinkets crafted, a lot of people will go buy it right on TP and craft.

Silver is virtually worthless because it's mainly used in jewelry plus a few token recipes in ore and ingot form. It's used in the Xunlai Ingot for Aurora

Yeah, they're not gonna add transmutations to crafting. If they're not gonna add 401-500 crafting to make ascended trinkets they're definitely not adding charges to crafting when they are map completion, reward track items, gemstore and BLC drops.

I'd definitely like to see specialised infusions available or a starting set. It'd be nice to be able to obtain them outside repeated Fractal runs. Mind you; Artificer deals with infusions currently so

Edit: Just had an easy thought for just one single Ascended recepie. You choose the stats when you click to consume it. Of course we'll also need the "Feast" version.

There's some festival foods that could be 'cooked'. Drooburt needed a lot of Steamed Dumplings that the only way to get them in one run (and condemn him to go hungry forever onwards) was to buy them off the TP due to the low droprate.

Platters are a thing. Durations and increased stats seem to be the order of the day when it comes to bigger recipes. There is a lot of wasted food clogging the TP.
