How is the present moment of the engineer?

probably is safe. It's not broken OP but it's inline with the current trend of power creep for the latest elite specs. It's probably the strongest trait line for the engi atm though and I think most woudl rather see scrapper reworked and core given some love than see holo nerfed. Go for it! At the end of the day, Engi is the best class played by the best people :) join the club

I know there may be nerf later, but is it safe that he does not turn a crap?

Holosmith is fun if you don't want to spend hours, days or even weeks and months learning how to play core engineer or Scrapper. Core engineer is considered the most difficult profession in the game because you have to memorize over 30 step rotations with 4 kits in order to achieve the highest damage in fractals and raids, so much so that, if played right, core engineer can outperform the Holosmith's damage. The only nerfs that I see the Holosmith getting is increasing the Photon Forge skill cooldowns or the heat capacity.

When it comes to PvP and WvW, most people will say that it's lackluster compared to the Holosmith and the rest of the professions. Those who played core engineer since its inception know how to play the profession with 3 or even 4 kits in PvP and the thing is core engineer and Scrapper are "somewhat" viable in PvP only, it's just that you have to play like a god compared to everyone else. It sucks to see the profession that has to put in the most amount of effort is the weakest profession when it comes to PvP and WvW. Let's just hope that ArenaNet will properly buff core engineer and Scrapper instead of giving them minor number adjustments.

It is fun, I think engineer is probably one of the best dps classes for fractals as they offer a lot of utility. If you look at builds for fractals will see lots of recommendations for how to handle the various ones. The condi core engi build that gives engineer it's reputation for being difficult is only used for raid bosses that don't move, involves using every kit we have in complex sequence to max damage. Holosmith has a much more sane rotation that involves several of the same kits, if you wanted to learn the full rotation holosmith is a good starting point. We have a lot of people on these forums that play pvp and it is a great fun class for it. Holo is fun for WvW roaming and if want to zerg can always run scrapper for support. Most good commanders don't mind having a few holo's in their ranks either, good AoE cleave and CC.
