Dragonite Ore/ Empyreal Fragments HELP

Hello everyone, firstly I am a new player having only HoT and I need those two items as soon as possible.

However, I dont have access to LWS or its maps so I cannot just go to BFF or somewhere else related to LWS to harvest dragonite ore. I somehow have 1xx dragonite ore, I dont know how I got them. Apparently it is possible to get those without those maps but I dont know how, and I couldnt find it.

I have never player PvP or WvW.

I dont have a guild.

I can obtain empyreal fragments from exalted chests but I would like to know if there is a faster way.

I feel for you, it can be very tricky to accrue a lot of both types of ore without access to some Living Story maps (especially living story 3).Here are two links that hopefully can help you, they provide an overview of where you can find both:Dragonite OreEmpyreal FragmentsFor Empyreal Fragments in particular, The Silverwastes you should have access to, and it (particularly the chest when you're flit about as a ball of light in the Hidden Depths avoiding those wolves) can be a good source.

You don't need access to a specific map or game mode to get these.

Dragonite Ore comes from any champion bag or world boss chest and Empyreal Fragments come from champion bags and chests in the world, like jumping puzzle chests.

The Auric Basin meta-event (saving Tarir) is probably a good choice because that will give you lots of champion bags to open and organised maps are still done regularly (at least on EU servers), but you can pick shorter or easier events if you prefer.

As already said: Silverwastes is your friend.Go look for a LFG (usually located under Open World > Central Tyria (Squads)) that says either RIBA or RIBA+CF. Those maps will be organized and have a chest farm session between each meta event. I'd say you can usually get around 500 Dragonite Ore and Empyreal Fragments in 2-3 hours of playtime there. Not to mention you get the same amount of Bloodstone Dust (given you open Bandit Bags on a level 80 Character).

I was missing dragonite ore, so I had to purchase the winterberry map from season 3. I farmed all of them and got 160 ore which was great :), empireal and bloodstone I have been getting from WvW. I farmed silverwastes with a group yesterday for about 1.5 hours, I don’t know how people claim you make all this money/ascended materials, but I opened 5 chests and got maybe 20 empireal and 20 bloodstone thats ir, got like 1 gold total and some materils none of them worth a lot, maybe 3-4 g total. Either the group I joined was really bad, which seems unlikely as 2 of them had legendary weapons, or people that have been playing this for a long time and have thousands of gold material, exxagerare the farming rates x 10, since perhaps it seems to them they got all that overnight, but it took them several months or years.

I know I didn’t open a lot of chests, but my understanding is that you can only open the same chest once per day, on average each chest was giving me 3-7 ascended materials, wondering if there are 100 chests in silverwastes, otherwise you probably can only farm about 100-200 max in that area each day.

No they reset each meta event so you can join a shovel train all day long.Only one player need to use a shovel so if your a big group you can run to all the chests then do events to get shovels back while building on the meter for next meta.

Thanks all for your suggestions. As being said above, I also believe the best place to obtain those is silverwaste if one does not have access to BFF. In my opinion, BFF farming would be less inconvenient since it does not require SW shovels or keys to the chest which can be bought with map currency, however, as far as I know, you need to attent map events to obtain shovels (there are also other methods). With LFG groups, both places are durable.

As you want to acquire them as fast as possible, if you have plenty of coin then you can buy and open Trick-or-Treat bags from the trading post as they drop Dragonite and Empyreal (as well as Bloodstone) fairly frequently (with a chance to drop them in a quantity of 50 and not just a quantity of 3).

As the bags are tradeable, you can buy them from the trading post right now for about 5.5 silver each. However, if you are not that flush with coin and are able to put off needing these materials in bulk for about a month and a half, these bags are in heavy supply during the Halloween festival that starts mid-late October.

If you are just shy of refining the amount needed into a brick to craft something that requires bricks, ToT bags could help with just getting a few extra very quickly to help you reach the amount you need instead of having to spend more time performing a dedicated activity out in the world to acquire the materials.

Plenty of other stuff drops from ToT bags also, but there are several nice items contained in them along with the 'junk'. If you open the bags out of season, I'd recommend storing the Halloween-related items it drops in your bank or on a mule/storage character until the Halloween festival as those are usually used in getting items only available during the Halloween festival.

SW is only profitable when its tightly organized though, so make sure to join a RIBA map. Those commanders there know how to properly do it and can maximize profit for the whole zerg if players can keep up with them (which is kinda confusing in the beginning but you'll grasp it fairly quick).

plus opening bandit bags and gear bags on a ~lvl50 char atleast doubles the amount of money you can make.

(and the bandit chests, you have to use the shovel+key on, are on a timer. its not once per day, as OP thought, its more like 5-10min)

The thing people don't tend to mention, at least not immediately, is that most farms aren't as straight-forward as 'play in this map and you'll get this much gold'.

There's several important steps involved, like getting onto an organised RIBA map (which is focused on maximising your drops), making sure you open as many chests as possible and then transferring the bags to a level 50 character to open, then salvaging the equipment from the bags and selling all the materials. That's what gets you the gold, not direct drops from the events or even the bags.

I may have missed some steps because I don't tend to do it properly, I settle for less gold in return for a simpler process which is closer to how I actually enjoy playing, but I know I could make more if I did it the way other people do.

^same goes for istan: opening the unidentified gear while being on magic find steroids from the silverwastes + bonfire + mf banner + mf food will yield far greater results (given you can hit that 650% mf).
