Which server should I transfer to?

Hey guys,

Me and 2 other friends are looking for a server to transfer to. We mainly just roam, but want to join an organized guild to learn more about zerg strategy and gameplay. We usually start playing around 8 PM PST to roughly 12 AM.

I am seeing a few servers available:

  • Sea of Sorrows
  • Henge of Denravi
  • Kaineng
  • Maguuma
  • Tarnished Coast

Would like to hear what you guys think!

Thanks in advance!

fyi, check wvwstats.com for the activities on that time for the servers you chose, then you can comb through and then choose.

i believe doing your research should do good.

Thank you for this information! It seems like Kaineng is both active during PST and EST time, so it might be a good choice for us to move to.

My server is 3 days in to being linked with Kaineng, they are on their 3rd month as a host having spent the last 2 years as a guest themselves, yes they were stacked to achieve host, but not the most recently stacked. Given its only been 3 days, I don't know much, but here's what I have so far:

Not too toxic compared to some others we've been linked with

Good activity during the day, lot of roamers, not many tags

Good activity during prime - More tags

Enough activity (it seems) during off hours

Will it last? Who knows! Transferring, like links are always a gamble, but, they aren't (or weren't) full, but the gem cost is pretty high compared to other servers on your list.

Stack or bandwagon means a group of guilds or huge groups of players move to that server, making the server more populated than it used to be.Naturally, through this process, other servers they came from become less populated thus unstacked.Often, there are more experienced players bandwagoning / stacking than newbies, newbies would never thought of that since they don't keep up with that kind of news. Thus, very often, due to population and skill gap (due to experience) differences, those stacked / bandwagoned servers will steam roll all other servers that either got destacked or not stacked. This is something not welcomed by many since it create a unbalance unfun WvW.

I’ve seen the term “stacked” being used a couple times now. What does it actually mean? What happens when a server becomes un-stacked?

Well... You get the image of a plaugue of locusts right?

What Shroud said also ensues.

Often, in the process they recruit members from the devastated, err bandwagoned server, leaving the server desolate in their wake.

What caused them to move tho? I’m just curious. I am still new to the feature and not understanding a lot of the mechanics behind it.

alliance for the fights x be with friends x want to win

could be any reasob =)

Kaineng is only a High pop server, so we're clearly not that stacked. That being said, we're pretty active most of the time with peak during NA prime. Many guilds with a high level of organization, an alliance discord, etc. We do also have active EU, OCX, and SEA guilds. T1 this week is pretty lousy for fights, but next week ought to be better.

A majority of guilds on the server are fight-focused, so if you're looking to avoid fights and endlessly k-train empty structures, you may want to look elsewhere.

From a new player perspective, I would recommend you to look for guilds and not server. When people look for server, they looking to steam roll, not to learn. You don't learn anything from steam rolling anyway.

The reasons can varies and is never important or matters because many of them moved so many times or so often that their credibility is good as none. What's important is when they move, they simply stack on a new server while taking many experienced from the previous server, unbalancing the game mode more and more.
