CORE PvP BUILD

Does anyone have a viable core PvP build that would sustain well above 1500?

Doesn't feel like any of the amulets are suited to the core spec

No, but I am just gonna leave a Bookmark here as I honestly wonder too.

However, I remember there was some quite useful D/D Protection Build. Sadly I don't remember anything else except it was D/D Earth/Water and no idea about 3rd line.

Don't know about Core but I've seen quite a few bunker Tempests lately. I've been playing Core Guard and there was a Tempest I just could not kill 1v1. I suppose a rev or a necro with their boon rip could've gotten the kill here but against just pure damage/CC the build seemed pretty impervious. Although I did get -1'd about 20 secs into the fight so I can't know the long haul result.

Fresh Air is in my opinion still a good build for core elementalist. Despite being heavily nerfed a few balance patches ago and then somewhat buffed in the August 28 balance patch, it is still a viable build for core elementalist if you know how to play it. It does lack in outnumbered fights and if you have a bad team, then you're going to struggle a lot.

Glass staff still works well. Easy 1500+ every season, but it caps out around there when the other team knows you play zerker.

False. Every single build in the meta destroys fresh air 1v1.

Core d/d from this guy...He also dueled one other top weaver and he won (or it was close, cant remember). So build must be ok, i guess

No, it isn't. :tongue: Kinda works but definitely way worse than weaver. With any other build (or, well, class) he would be even more successfull, since he's a great player. :smile: But he enjoys it, which is the best reason to play it!

Yea I agree that weaver is stronger... However I just want to point out some different options for op who's asking for core builds :)I played a bit fresh air ele and d/d and I personally did better with dd. But thats just my play style and perhaps fresh air will be a better option for op.ps if there is some third core build option besides staff ele... im all ears =)

That video is from a solid year ago...it outdated and irrelevant. Sorry

The changes to electric discharge and scepter air 2 has made fresh air really diffacult to have a reliable burst like its counter part thf or any other burst build.

Im using a dagger / dagger ele build in ranked pvp and its a lot of fun. Although keep in mind I capped Plat1 with my main and I'm currently at gold2 with d/d ele.The build does depend on good teammates a bit more than others so you can easily get screwed over by that.I'll post the build when I'm on pc.It has high mobility (only gets beaten by thief and portal mesmers) and you should be decapping, +1ing, although it can duel most classes and hold a node for an extended amount of time :)

Burst is around 13k average, can be higher or lower, nice CC chains and awesome kiting potential, as well as chasing low targets

Only thing I'm getting destroyed by are power revs and power mesmers
