Bought GW2, can't do things for days????

My wife and I took a few days off for vacation. We are pretty heavy gamers and wanted to try GW2. We created our accounts and tried it out. After a day or two we decided to purchase it. We decided on out crafting professions and went to it. Then we tried to swap our resources like we always do and we cannot, NO P2P trading. Ok, no biggie. We'll just mail them to each other. Tried that and cannot! We have to wait for days. Then we decided to just level and went to the broker to buy better armor. We cannot! We again have to wait for days. She needed some silver for something so I went to send her some. We cannot again!!!

Whats going on? Our vacation is almost over and this game is crippled. We love GW2 but it seems we wasted our money on it since we cannot do anything more than a free to play player can. Whats going on??????

I hate waiting on refunds but it's heading that way. When can we send stuff or buy off the broker? We created our accounts 4 days ago and bought the game 2 days ago. We only have 2 more days to play this game the way we want ( long day sessions ).

Can someone shed some light on this? Whats going on?

Honestly if you only have 6 days to play this was the wrong game to choose. You'd barely have time to get started in 6 days, even playing all day every day.

But if you're curious the restriction is in place to prevent gold sellers from stealing/cloning credit card details, buying an account, using it for illegal trades until they get caught and banned and then starting over. It is annoying when you've just started and have to wait out the restrictions but in the long-term it's a very minor issue for most players and makes the game better for everyone.

responded to your other thread, you can do most thing in the game the nodes are shared so you can just harvest away, just keep doing events explore maps and do the story.you dont need to start crafting or buy anything of the trading post, use the karma you get from events to buy armor weapons trinkets, salvage kits harvesting tools etc if your low on in game coin. You dont really need to buy anything else then the salvage kits and harvesting tools really since you should get enough weapons armors just from mob drops.

A new player tip is you can right click a salvage kit and it will salvage any drop the items you get from leveling up generarly cant be salvaged. ( always try to keep 3-4 kits with you)Add to that the cog in the top right corner of your bags got a deposit all button that will transfer all the salvaged down materials from your bags to your material storge you can access from any crafting station.

That should help you with any bag spaces you will have at the start.

EditAnother tip is any heart on maps you explore after you complete them you can sell any grey items since they act as a vendor and greyis junk.

@Mijorious.2498 said:Thanks. I'll post it there. And Block, 5 days is ridiculous to buy a game and can't play it. We bought it to play while on vacation sitting at home. We only have 6 days to play it. So I guess it's refund time. I've NEVER heard of anything like this, ever!

Thanks for the replies folks.

Gw2 is so vast and deep that you can’t finish it in a week or even get the rythm. It is good time for targeted goals like finishing personal story and living world seasons, or getting ascended or completing all dungeons etc.

I just don’t want you to lose out on a great game just because you bind your enjoyment to 6 days and some stupid security control process gets in your way. Take it easy and enjoy the game.
