Humbolio.2174 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Hi all. Technical question but I can't see where it would fit. In short, I want to run the game from my PC, but play it on my laptop the same as if I was running it directly from the PC. Steam has a service for their games that does exactly this, but obviously won't work for Guild Wars so does anyone have any ideas?I'm aware the quality would drop on the laptop and there would be some lag - it's purely a childcare issue :)
loseridoit.2756 Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 you can use steamlink ( i dont have it. I cannot comment)https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9772-WHJM-4676#nonsteambasically, you can add non steam games to steam and run it through it.latency should be minimal since you are running it on a local network unless your router is garbage.
SimplyRedie.6207 Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 You don't need to add it to Steam. Steamlink basically streams everything what happens on main PC. I was using it to play WoW on it. It will work all the same on PC to laptop set.
loseridoit.2756 Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 well. i realize i am wrong. i sometimes wonder if i should stop doing support when i am the largest moron of the day. doh
Humbolio.2174 Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 Thanks all. Works great for other games - just not GW 2. I suspect this is a poor laptop / running everything over wifi
