Revenant trait line changes (suggestions)

Now i know a-net wont read this but maybe the community can share their thoughts and opinions on what i think they could change with core revenant. Here are some ideas:(carefull looong text)

Core revDevastation :

  1. Ferocious Strikes (Adept). gain ferocity when dual wielding. Imo this trait could use some love and i thought that since it is a trait that is supposed to reward dual wield playstyle, especially power, then they might give the trait a 10% attack speed buff. the reason is shiro is known for his speed in terms of combat and since the "impossible odds" change (doesnt give quickness anymore) the actual attacks of the revenant himself felt kinda... slow. maybe give the buff if you are on assassin, to give the revenant the feeling of "i am an assassin, i am shiro tagachi".

2.Nefarious Momentum (Master). Still unsure how to acually use the trait i mean if i am on assassin, am i supposed to constantly toggle impossible odds on and off to get the might? this is why the trait kinda feels weird to have. i can see the intension behind it but imo, it isnt well executed. Maybe it should go like this: If you swap legends In Combat, the next legendary stance skill you use will cost no energy (elite skills could either be ignored for like Mallyx, Kalla, Glint upkeep elites, or have them go for like 5 sec from 6 energy drain to 3 energy drain).

3.Assassins Anihilation(Grandmaster). I know, this trait is pretty nice to have life leech when flanking the enemy. But i kinda wondered if this trait could become better, and i thought of a reworked version of it. instead of getting the life leech, you should get like passive enchanced daggers and replace the healing skill for the assassin with something else (later on that). Since you usually use your healing skill on assassin for an amaizing dmg boost, it kinda felt annoying to use it every time and when you got offguard with it, you where pretty much screwed . thus maybe make the daggers a traitline (maybe lesser self heal then 1k/dagger, and internal cd for either all daggers at once or every dagger individualy to spawn). it would fit into the grandmaster traitline: Reworked Assassins Annihilation for more burst capabilitiesBrutallity for if you need to fight tankier ppl or need the quicknessSwift Termination for a more constant dmg buffAs a new healing skill for shiro i would suggest maybe something like vampiric signet from necro.Mark of the AssassinYou mark an enemy with the sign of shiro, causing you to heal yourself for a percentage of the dmg you aply to them. If you kill the target while they have the mark on them, the Cooldown is reducedInitial heal : 2k-2.5kHeal percentage: 20%Cooldown reduction:50%A more rewarding healing skill. could either stay with the 2,5k healing if you cant land a hit or the enemy (pvp) can prevent you from hitting them, or you can go really high up dependant on the dmg you do.

Retribution:1.Vicious Reprisal (Grandmaster): Its basicly the same as the guardian trait and there is one thing that bothers me, while taking the trait. The retaliation uptime from the revenant himself. Imo the trait shouldnt go for retaliation, it should go for stability instead, because a jalis revenant (to which the traitline is dedicated) got way more stability options then retaliation.

                           2.Steadfast Rejuvination(Grandmaster): I... honestly have no idea what this trait should acualyly be or why it counts as a grandmaster trait. Sorry but this trait needs to be reworked because it has litterally no true usage, compared to its other counterparts Vicious Reprisal (even more if they where to change retal for stab) and Versed in Stone. Maybe a Buff could help where the next hit you take will be converted into healing and not damage you, once every... 20 (?) 

Corruption1.Diabolic Inferno. Not really great changes just a little thing to point out. a-net if you are reading this, please change the proc animation. seriously this bomb animation can stick with the engineer, what we need is more flashiness for those who go the dark ways. maybe a Abaddon themed,dark-violet flame. just fashion wars 2 buffs makes condi revenant opaf lul.

Salvation Tbh i dont realy see a point realy worth of change, maybe some traits that would allow you to set the energy cost lower on the tablet, under special cincumstances, like "halfen the cost of the next Legendary Zentaur Stance ability, if you : 1.are under a certain energy percentage

  1. have healed a certain amount of health (dependant of Character lvl, for leveling heal revs)
  2. are above a certain health percentage

Invocation1.Cleansing Channel. Imo it should cleanse 2 condis. just a thought. but on paper nice trait

                      2.Fierce Infusion. Tbh kinda of a useless trait if you go or herald since you get unlimited access to fury. Maybe this trait should be moved from down to up to fit with the other upper invocation traits and make it like "you gain extra trait boost, dependant on the  Legend you invoced: Jalis (Dwarf)         150 Toughness                     "                                                                                                                                                                                                        Mallyx (Demon) 150 Condition Damage                                                                                                                                                                                                          Ventari (Centaur) 150 Healing Power                                                                                                                                                                                                         Shiro Tagachi (Assassin)150 Ferocity                                                                                                                                                                                        (Herald)  Glint (Dragon)   150 Concentration                                                                                                                                                                                   (Renegade)  Kalla (Renegade) 150 Expertise                       3. Rapid flow. Another trait which i have no idea what it is. the 5 sec cooldown kinda kills this trait yet the reason is because of the speed you get being 5 sec, still useless while you have herald. imo this trait needs to go out the window and be replaced by something that ,since almost every class got it, a passive 25% speed boost and a reduction of roots and soft ccs like cripple and chill duration, could keep the heal. A trait that helps you come around if you are not a herald with unlimited speed.

HeraldEven with the rework Herald got some Bullet Points that dont really help it

                    1.Core Value. Could be argued that it is just an Adept trait, but it kinda feels meh for some legends. Dont get me wrong, the effect on dwarf is brilliant and centaur is fair enough considering the tablet got more then enough condi cleanse, but the rest is kinda bad. Assassins form is in PvP terms kinda week considering there are 11 Boons existent in the game and many classes utilises most of them. kinda like a 3:6-7 Boons. imo it should go from 3 boons to 4 boons ripped to bolster the capability of the assassins tue nature. same with the Demon . There are about 13 conditions and 3 transfered condis could get 1 more transfered condi.  Imo The dragons True Nature is kind of a joke like 2 sec dont realy make THAT much of a difference.it should also be buffet that it goes to either 3-4 bonus sec. for boons. Otherwise solid trait idea.                   2.Shining Aspect. The only thing that is killing this trait is the cooldown. otherwise great                   3.Hardening Persistence. Maybe either buffing the Condi cleanse from 1 to 2, or keep those trait benefits and do the same as with necros "Lingering curse" and rework the shield 5, best thing would be to make you move during this or make you invulnerable.

Renegade 1.Wrough-iron Will. I can take that you can dodge by other means like assassin stance, Sword, staff... but since renegade is supposed to be a condition elite specialisation you wont use those that much, so what is your other ways to dodge an attack? using endurance to dodgeroll. but there is a minor trait that suffers if you dodge this way. "brutal momentum" (gain 33% higher critical chance, if you got full endurance), so If you dodge in a tough fight you basicaly deal less dmg or are more likely since its crit chance and not crit dmg. one of them must be changed, so that there shall be harmony in the renegade elite spec.

               Other then that, i think the spirits should be completely reworked. Imo they should either be like the necro minions  only better, where every spirit fulfills a role like in a group 

and as a flippover he should get a "command" skill, like the necro minions, where they overload their skills.

                                                                                                       Breakrazors Bastion: "Summon the spirit of Era Breakrazor following you durring your adventures. when in combat Era roots herself and pulses healing to her allies around her." /" Command Era Breakrazor to Double up her healing, cousing her to release a burst of healing arround her"                                                                                                      Razorclaws Rage :"Summon The spirit of Centurion Jas Razorclaw following you durring your adventures. when in combat Jas will unleash a burst of bleed-inflicting bullets and grant players every 15 sec a buff to allied characters, where for 5 sec the next attacks inflict bleeding on the enemies." /" Command Jas Razorclaw to unleash a barrage on the targetet location, inflicting heavy bleeding on foes"                                                                                                      Icerazors Ire : "Summon the spirit of Visk Icerazor to follow you durring your adventures. when in combat, Visk strikes at the enemy with weakening conditions and damage dealing projectiles and every 12 sec channeling an orb dealing heavy damage and applieing many weakening conditions at once (vulnerability, cripple, weakness, chill, slow(all 3 sec, slow only 1)."/Command Visk Icerazor to bombard the enemy with weakining projectiles in quick succession.                                                                                                       Darkrazors Daring:"Summon the spirit of Kus Darkrazor, following you on your adventures. when in combat, Kus will unleash a flurry of attacks on the enemy., dealing power damage and every 12(?) sec he dazes the enemy. /Command Kus Darkrazor to attack all enemys in an aeria, dazing them every sec, rooting him in place". Keeps the stunbreak effect                                                                                                        Soulcleaves Summit:" Summon Lieutenant Ofela Soulcleave to follow you durring your adventures. when in combat Ofela will herass the enemy with heavy ,life siphoning blows and every 15 sec. she gives players arround her a Buff that lets allies siphon life too along side her./Command Ofela Soulcleave to do a whirlwind attack, dealing dmg, siphoning life and provocing the enemy struck by it.

For those who wonder, "where is the upkeep?", i think that they could do the same with herald for you to get a splittet buff for every spirit you have active (facet on herald). But without an upkeep, time fo a more newer mechanic which gw1 elementalists will be mostly familiar: Overcast. Overcast was a downside to some elementalist abilities to, where they reduce the max. amount of energy, making it more difficult to cast abilities, since energy was the same thing as mana in gw1. And this could go very well with the new renegade. You gain overcast based on how many spirits you summoned. for example if you summon Visk Icerazor, you get around 10 max. energy taken, leaving you with only 90% max. energy. and if you have all spirits on you could end up with only a fraction of your max. energy, about 4x10+1x20 (for Soulcleaves Summit) would take 60% energy away and leave you with only 40% max energy, to cover your weapon skills, your F2-F4 and the Commend skills, which could prove quite problematic in certain fights. How to turn off your spirits? Simply rightclick on them to dismiss them. (dont know if it allready exists).

Next thing what renegade could need is a little bit of adjustments to his shortbow. Like the 3. skill "Sevenshot" where you can decide yourself the center of the arrows is, just to name one.

Being able to swap to Shiro, use Phase Traversal, and then land on somebody with 55 energy to blow them up and fully escape with might be kind of on the ridonkulously strong side... But man do I want to has that.

The issue I have with this trait tier is that 2 of the 3 traits have to do with dual wielding (swords specifically for the other one). The traits overlap way too much and Ferocious Strikes shouldn't be restricted whatsoever to dual wielding. Why close off other weapon choices? Jade Echo is a dumb trait that I only ever see used in WvW...probably because there is nothing better for those builds. Personally I think the trait needs to be oriented towards 2-handers, or take off any restriction at all.

Personally I think that would be too strong. That makes sense for Invocation and we already have Charged Mists, which accomplishes a similar goal. I agree the trait is a little weird, though.

I'll agree with you that this trait seems just...off. Perhaps it could apply barrier (same values/ICD as the healing) to self and nearby allies when hit. Barrier seems to be a fitting choice for Jalis/Retribution. Maybe take reduced damage while you have barrier active as well and have Vengeful Hammers apply barrier instead of self-healing.

Yeah this is a very sad, directionless trait. I think attaching the swiftness to Spirit Boon (10sec swiftness on legend swap + the other boon) would make the trait more competitive, and then doing something completely new and exciting in Rapid Flow's place. Your idea could be nice too.

Yeah, this trait would see a lot more play if shield were better. Shield 5 pulses the condi cleanse, so you'd be getting 4x condis cleared from it. IMO the trait doesn't need changing, shield does. I agree with you that the best thing would be to make shield 5 mobile.

I think the reason for Ferocious Strikes not applying to 2-handers is because they didn't want it combo'ing with release-strength SotM or Hammer and just honestly never looked at it since. SotM's been nerfed so many times (Hammer too sort of) that I don't even think it'd be too out of line strong to let this trait apply to them now.

But the more confusing thing is that you're right in the fact that the traits 100% overlap, since the only other 1 handed weapon is a condi one, and Vicious Lacerations is just so much better if you're using a sword. I guess maybe anet intended this trait to be used by people brave enough to play a hybrid build, but even if you were going to try and make hybrid-rev work, you wouldn't be taking Devastation since the entire point of a spec like that is to utilize how strong Corruption's traits are in conjunction with how good sword skills are (were) on their own.

I suppose it's a nice little (and I do mean little) dps boost when you're playing Condi Renegade are are bringing AP for your sub, but that's about it. (Which is a really rare occurance in raids anyways these days since you need 3 power-dps in your sub to justify it after the Invocation rework.)
