Fast levelling question

Should I do the personal story quests?Should I do gathering?

The fastest right now for a new player would probably be doing map completion using a guide that shows the optimal route. About a month from now you’ll have a much quicker jet way when the Halloween event starts and people can farm the labyrinth.

A mix of everything, some hearts are quicker than others though. Levelling a craft can help you level your char as well. Doing events can help as well but dont do out of your way to find them.

Thank you for the responses but I know about how to level.What I am asking is will doing the personal story quests and doing gathering slow down the levelling speed?

Generally yes as you can get XP more efficiently elsewhere. That said, there's nothing wrong with doing those things and especially the personal story if you were going to do it anyway on that character. One thing to keep in mind when grinding XP is that it tends to get boring after awhile and it can have a negative impact on your playing experience.

Not really sure, the personal story quests give a ton of experience. Might even be among the fastest gaming ways to level since doing the 3 personal story quests every 10 levels nets close to 3 levels on their own.

Its almost ironic saying that, since the leveling curve in this game is shorter then anything else I've ever played. Even Battlefield takes longer to max out ranks... and that was before EA went crazy with the grind fest.

The game throws so many ways to get Exp and Levels in the sub-80 phase of the game, thats actually hard to not outlevel the rate that you travel around the maps. Just doing map clears on your way to Orr takes 2-3 weeks if you play a lot....perhaps a month and a half if you have less then 8 hours a week. Exp only ever gets to be a problem in HOT, since leveling masteries affects how you move around the maps; VB being especially stifling since you need gliding 2 and jumping mushrooms just to navigate.

Not really.

Chopping one tree/mining one metal node gives the same exp as killing 3.5 normal enemies(not including exp bonuses for being a live a long time).

One sickle use is 4 enemies.
