Gorgoroth.8547
following the gw2 network connection diag for connection the network diag.log showed only 4% packet loss all up until ncsoft of which had 3 hops in a row of 100% packet loss. this is not my isp, nor my router, nor my pc, but instead an issue in america. it has been like this for months now and i cannot play gw2 on my home wifi connection.Hop RTT Lost/Sent = Pct Lost/Sent = Pct Address0 Carl-PC.home [192.168.1.14] 0/ 50 = 0% |1 3ms 0/ 50 = 0% 0/ 50 = 0% 192-168-1-1.tpgi.com.au [192.168.1.1] 0/ 50 = 0% |2 12ms 1/ 50 = 2% 1/ 50 = 2% bri-pow-que-bras21-lo-20.tpgi.com.au [10.20.23.81] 0/ 50 = 0% |3 16ms 0/ 50 = 0% 0/ 50 = 0% 203-219-166-194.static.tpgi.com.au [203.219.166.194] 2/ 50 = 4% |4 30ms 2/ 50 = 4% 0/ 50 = 0% 203-26-22-113.static.tpgi.com.au [203.26.22.113] 2/ 50 = 4% |5 29ms 4/ 50 = 8% 0/ 50 = 0% 203.29.134-3.tpgi.com.au [203.29.134.3] 13/ 50 = 26% |6 205ms 19/ 50 = 38% 2/ 50 = 4% ix-et-0-0-2-0.tcore1.lvw-los-angeles.as6453.net [64.86.197.96] 0/ 50 = 0% |7 189ms 17/ 50 = 34% 0/ 50 = 0% las-b24-link.telia.net [80.239.128.214] 5/ 50 = 10% |8 221ms 22/ 50 = 44% 0/ 50 = 0% dls-b22-link.telia.net [62.115.118.246] 1/ 50 = 2% |9 --- 50/ 50 =100% 27/ 50 = 54% ncsoft-ic-317391-dls-b22.c.telia.net.10.115.62.in-addr.arpa [62.115.10.106] 0/ 50 = 0% |10 --- 50/ 50 =100% 27/ 50 = 54% 64.25.32-9.ncsoft.com [64.25.32.9] 0/ 50 = 0% |11 --- 50/ 50 =100% 27/ 50 = 54% 64.25.32-26.ncsoft.com [64.25.32.26] 0/ 50 = 0% |12 220ms 23/ 50 = 46% 0/ 50 = 0% 64.25.33-1.ncsoft.com [64.25.39.1]had no response for submitting a ticket 5 days ago so I am writing here to see if anyone can help.appreciate all/any responses,kind regards,Gorgoroth.8547

Healix.5819
The old NCSoft servers aren't used by GW2 anymore. If you want to trace the current Amazon servers, use PingPlotter and get the IP of the map you're currently in by using the chat command /ipAs for the 100% loss, both NCSoft and Amazon will ignore pings within their network, hence the 100% loss. Steve The Cynic.3217
@Gorgoroth.8547 should also pay attention to the substantial packet loss in tpgi.com.au's network (his ISP?).

Seems like an issue in and of itself, that is, they don't recommend ping plotter and /ip. Alas I will try it, thank you for the suggestion. @Steve The Cynic.3217 This is true but would you actually consider under 10% substantial? genuinely curious. That's the link from your router to your ISP.

Feirlista Xv.1425
If you know anything about how the internet work you would know that the final destination is going to show 100% packet loss, it’s the server regecting the ping request for security reasons! (Disclaimer: I work in the Internet security industry - programmer for a firewall manufacturer.)There are reasons to block ping requests, but most of them are wrong, and "for security reasons" is definitely wrong. (Yes, some networks do block ping, but that doesn't even remotely make them more secure.) Blocking ping reveals information about the network, specifically the presence of a firewall.More to the point, if you look closely at the trace shown by the OP, you'll see that the destination (it doesn't have to be a server) is not blocking pings. There is significant packet loss, but if the destination (or a machine along the way) was blocking pings, we'd see 100%/100%/100% loss from there on, and we don't. The worst are the two hops before the last at 100%/54%/0%.
Gorgoroth.8547
Again thanks for all the responses. Much appreciated. I got a response on the support ticket a few days ago, but I'm unsure how to attach anything to the ticket. They asked for the game adviser connection zipped folder. Any idea on how I can attach a file? my support ticket does not have any option above the text box like the forums do.If i can upload it without them telling me how it would save a few days of waiting for another response on how to attach a file. Thanks,OP
Inculpatus cedo.9234
You attach files just like you do when answering any other email. Usually there is an option at the bottom of the page. (You don't respond on the 'Support' webpage/site.)Good luck.
