Quacky.5391 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I came back to GW2 a few days and have no idea what I'm doing in terms of endgame anymore. I know mastery points are a thing etc, but where to find them is beyond me. I already have gliding, raptor mount etc. I'd just like a few pointers on what I should focus on, last time I played was last year. Any build suggestions for ranger, tips for what to do/where to go would be really useful!

Heart of Thorns masteries are a bit harder to complete due to the complex map design. As for Path of Fire, just try to find the masteries you can unlock either by doing a simple jumping puzzle or with the raptor. Some mastery points in certain locations require different mounts to unlock, so just unlock those that you can with the raptor and then move on to acquiring the other mounts. If the endgame for you is fractals and raids, then focus on getting ascended gear. It's the best gear along with legendary gear which is just an ascended re-skin. Each profession has their own way to be played in these game modes, so I would recommend Snow Crows. It'll help you out a lot when it comes to crafting gear and weapons for the profession you're playing. I would say it's the best source for learning about your profession if you're new at least when it comes to fractals and raids. It's frequently updated and it's in my opinion more reliable than Metabattle.Any build suggestions for ranger, tips for what to do/where to go would be really useful!Depends on the game mode. If it's open world, any build is viable. Just make sure to get berserker gear with scholar runes to deal the highest damage possible. In fractals and raids, Druid is most commonly seen because of the reliable way of buffing allies. It's not just healing, but also boons that can help allies perform better. For PvP, Soulbeast is most commonly seen and that's only because ArenaNet thought it was a good idea to buff a profession that has the best ranged combat in the game, but can also have lots of boons to fight their opponents as well as the lazily copy-pasted Unrelenting Assault (revenant sword skill 3) animation to give Soulbeast evasion, teleport, sustain and tons of damage. Not saying that core ranger is bad, it's just that Soulbeast seems like a better version of it.

Drill down under the various headings to find out the detail. Central Tyria MPs are Red, HoT are Green and PoF are Purple. Unsurprisingly, you can click on the Masteries tab to see what you've currently got trained, points earned but unspent and so on. I suspect that anything under any part of the game you haven't unlocked (e.g Living World episodes you haven't bought and didn't log in for) won't show up, but I could be wrong. But anything you don't yet have access to ought to be listed under the relevant content entries in the GW2 wiki. And Dulfy is, as always, a good place to go if you need help getting anything specific. Just be aware that older stuff may well be out of date, in that quite a few Open World things that pre-date mounts are way easier to do with them .
