The best class / build for staying on your feet while in a PVE a zerg (tagging)?

Taipans.1427

I have been messing around lately changing up a few of my characters to use them on runs such as Labs, Istan, Doric etc. My goal is to stay on my feet and not lag behind. And considering in a massive group DPS output isn't a priority I would like to forget that aspect and pile on defense. My main is an Engi, has been for 6 years. But I never beefed him up, I always optimized him for DPS. I have been working on him the past few days and I feel like he is "OK" but I am not sure if I made all of the right choices. So that made me curious on which class works best for what I want to do? This character would be 100% dedicated to doing zerg type farms. Thanks for the help!

I usually switching between my Daredevil and Holo for gold farming, after a year doing so i will go with Daredevil - shortbow with stamina sigil, infinite dodge and alway stay on the top never falling behind.

However Holo with Flamethrower is the best for Istan farming because you don't need too much mobility while farming GH or Palawadan and mobs tend to come to you in group so it easier to tag them all with just a Flamethrower.

For the rest like SW, Lab, Doric where you need to run constantly while tagging mobs Daredevil is a go to class. If you afraid of dying then use Marauder Gear or something with Toughness and take Invigorating Precision, with this much survival you won't go down so easily.

This is the build i usehttp://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQNAV6al8MhCnYxTw3JQ/ELkFlXAkAFwct37F/WGOW1GA-jRSBQBA4IA8gDCAFuAAZU53BeAA0Y/hEq+T+0NYSlgAA-e

  • Sigil of Stamina is doing a great job preventing negative effect from Unhindered Combatant because as long as you are able to tag a mob and let everyone else kill it your endurance bar will go back to full no matter what.
  • P/P is for champ or boss fight while keeping a safe distance, switch to staff or dagger if you want to.
  • Two stun break for safety and more initiative regen for extra spammable abilities.

I would highly recommend a magi scourge if you want to actually help your group farm.

I have been doing lab every other day these weeks and all I can say is dear lord people are so, so bad. They drop like flies even when stacking 15k+ barriers on them. The scourge however is just stack and pummel the mobs. Facetanking the lich or count is easy. Tagging is equally easy (I get around 350-400 bags an hour and thats even using d/wh + d/t for even more facetanking lf and hp regen. If you drop in hp to nothing it take like 3s to be full again. Some fights I must have ressed people 30+ times haha.

Here's some links about the so-called "Mercy Scourge"

Strictly for tagging opponents for the most loot?Deadeye + Shortbow is pretty good.

The mobility you have with Shortbow is enough and anymore you gain from Daredevil is overkill. The perma-quickness + AoE utilities for tagging in conjunction with the Payback and Collateral Damage traits serves you much better for farming purposes.

Even if you get knocked down, thieves catch up in no time.
