Kruhljak.2705
I've found that if you happen to use your key to unlock the reward chest for completing Mad King Says and you get forcibly teleported into the cauldron at the wrong time, you lose your key and you get nothing from the chest. I'm aware one can just wait and come back to the chest after being popped out of the cauldron to avoid this, but a bug's a bug and this should not be a thing. Illconceived Was Na.9781
That does sound like a bug, although one that probably won't get attention from ANet because it probably affects so few people and would require more than a little coding to satisfactorily prevent. (Probably by keeping the chest locked for a while, which would potentially annoy more people.)Definitely worth a post. It's also exactly the sort of thing I would use the in-game /bug tool to report, because that sends ANet additional data about where/when, which would help in troubleshooting.Sorry you lost out on a day's reward. Inculpatus cedo.9234
Not that it helps, but it's been like this for a very long time; maybe since the content first appeared.
Shikigami.4013
This can happen when the "unlock" action is started by very hasty people, but the rewards are not lost although it may appear to you as if they are.The unlock action will happen immediately and remove the key in your inventory but you will not get the reward until the progress bar has moved from left to right completely. So if you get ported away in the middle of opening the chest, you have lost your key and did not get the reward yet. However, the chest has been unlocked, so you just need to go back to the chest and loot it, the reward will still be in it waiting for you. Kruhljak.2705
Aha! Then I actually lost my goodies because I chose to complain about it instead of returning to the scene of the crime and investigating the situation! Serves me right. :) I should know better. I've seen similar things before over the years. Thanks for the input, fellow Tyrians.
