Mastery points

So I just bought season 2 and both expansions after playing through the personal story, i love this game. I want to do everything in order but that pop up keeps coming up at the bottom of my screen that my mastery points are full but they are not unlocked yet. Is there a way to unlock them without going out of order for story wise? Thanks!

Unfortunately not :( The unlock condition for the entire mastery system is the first story instance in either expansion pack.

Iirc the pop-up is not supposed to show as often as it does, so please bug-report it!

Thanks, do you recommend which chapter to do to unlock it? If i dont do it right away do i lose the mastery points if it says its full?

You never lose mastery points. This is things you only get from certain achievements.Mastery XP can be lost, but that is both quite unlikely and not very conseqential.

XP earned post lvl 80 is split based on region. XP earned in Core Tyria, along with LW season 2, Fractals, most Festivals, etc goes toward Core masteries. Core have 3 separate Masteries.

When the mastery currently gaining XP is full, the XP is diverted to another one within the same region that isn't full. Once all masteries of the region is full without mastery points being spent, any further XP earned is lost until a new tier is unlocked. Should this happen though, you're so far ahead with XP that you really won't notice it.

As for which chapter to use to unlock the system, I think PoF first chapter gives least conseqential spoilers. It'll also give you the Raptor, which is still highly useful for the rest of the game even before ranking up its associated mastery. It might be a bit more challenging as a solo instance however.Preferably use a separate character than your main, to avoid jumbling your main's Story Journal.

I just want them to fix it so that the annoying "Your current ability is fully trained and ready to master" panel stops popping up every time. Yes, game, I am aware that I have xp maxed out in both Central Tyria and my HoT content. I just don't have the Mastery points I need to master the next level yet. I really, really don't need the panel popping up after every single ex-worthy kill... I only came back to the game a few months ago, and aside from mounts in central tyria, this is the only downside I've found yet to picking the game back up again.

If you haven't, would you please send in a bug report? I think there's supposed to be a suppression so it doesn't spam all the time but obviously it's not working.

Personally, I think it really doesn't need to show more than mayby once per day.

IIRC the first step for HoT in actually unlocking masteries is not the Prelude, but the step "Torn From The Sky" which basically grants you glider. For PoF, I would imagine it to be the time you're granted the Raptor. Once you've unlocked either of those, you'll also unlock Central Tyria and start working on that. As for the "ready to be trained" harrassment, submit it as a bug report. It should not be often telling you that if you didn't yet unlock masteries for the zone (because theoretically you're not training!).

That is actually somewhat odd ... I've never had the popup even though I would have appreciate it if it did. There has been a few times when I had it filled but didn't notice and ended up losing some exp since I already had the points available. It does give the flashing exp bar though.

Maybe the code is actually checking for the opposite of what it supposed to. Instead of informing people when the bar is full and they have enough points it is informing people when the bar is full and people don't have enough points.

You get this pop up when you havent unlocked the mastery system at all so no wonder you dont get it.Most of us would have got it the first day hot released if we slacked in doing the intro story.
