News on new map and 2v2

Honestly kind of surprising that no one talks about this in the forum. But here you go.

5v5 looks pretty standard, video haven't shown much regarding map mechanics other than pretty sceneries

Looks like 2v2 will have closing barrier after set time though, and electric floor on bottom?While I'm glad they brought in something else than conquest, I'm kind of sad that its custom only (even when I saved up some arena tokens etc). Just create another tickbox in unranked so people can enjoy the map.

One thing I don't get about Anet... They put in the effort to make 2v2 and Deathmatch but instead of giving us easy access to enjoy the fruits of thier labour, they expect us to jump through fucking hoops to get to it.

It might come as a surprise, but FB is not nearly as broken in small scale such as 2v2. I see 2v2 Arena as ANET's last chance of getting PvP right in this game.

What do you base this on? FB in ROMs 2v2 tournies is still dominant even with handicaps such as an outlawed Menders Amulet.... What do you think about that?

I think that ROMs 2v2 tourneys are much too small a sample and it’s unwise to use it a basis for a 2v2 meta. You might very well be right, but I'd be more worried about double insane burst combos and the likes.

if anet is going mobile on gw2.5 or gw3 then they wont have a player base. A computer pc / mac gaming company going to phones where you can't do 1/10 of the stuff as a desktop can. Will ruin and bankrupt them.

Trust me there will be a gw3 but we will just have to suffer till then with the half butt non competitive pvp here. There will be a expansion soon after the living story but that will make things worse in pvp to start like the last 2 expansions. So just grind it out for a few years till gw3.

Thats diablo and the gameplay has always been eh.. D3 was a disaster. Just imagine playing open world gw2 on a phone lol. Diablo could pull it off since there is lack of open world gameplay. Just localized games.

I'm all in with you. From what i hear with the current Diablo fans they are all saying what the hell blizzard. lol Yeah hope it fails like Diablo 3. They had a chance to make a open world game. Hell there were even talks of a open world D3 similar to gw2 open maps. Never happened. Hopefully it will fail and it will be a sign for the guild wars team to not attempt it.

The PvP map environment is warrior and ranger unfriendly. Currently, these classes do not posses the ability to teleport to hills, bridges and uneven platforms.Why can't they just put a map with a large open field arena?

I predict that in the 2 vs 2 map, if there are 2 warriors in the same team they are going to be kitted hard by thieves, mesmers, and elementalist with instant teleport to cliffs and uneven surfaces.
