Feature Request: Home Instance Cat Fight Club - can we get these angry cats some catnip?

Recommended Posts

Hey all

So I was having a meh night the other night and decided I wanted to unlock a bunch of home instance cats because hey. It'd be fluffy. I pulled up a guide and went from like 2-3 to all but a couple of them. Then I went into my home instance.

It was cute, it was fluffy, until I turned a corner in the Salma District and found cat-fight-club where cats were smacking each other ten feet across the cobblestone road. Like. These cats are more aggro'd on each other (and about 1000% more adorable) than the ice wurms were on players running through GW1's Lornar's Pass.

It kind of struck the wrong chord with me. Like, out of universe because I like cats, in-universe I can't picture The Commander (the PC) who likes cats so much they've taken to calling themselves The Catmander, I can't see that character tolerating a bunch of their rescued pet cats fighting constantly.

What do you guys think about some Elonian catnip incense sticks, an all-you-can-eat cheeseburger bar, or maybe kitty anger management classes to help the fighting cats find some chill?

In other words, as a feature request, I would like it if there was a way to make the aggressive/fighting cats non-aggressive in my home instance without sending all of them to Caithe (who I am now certain is literally made of catnip). I think this could be as simple as buying another item (please let me get my cats a cat-palace-jungle-gym!) or even sidequests for each individual cat.

Please guildwars can we have a item to calm the fighting cats down? PLEASE really need that. I hate seeing them fighting all the time, if I'd known I would not have collected those. Please! I tell myself they are just training. But its awful. Please!

You can always remove them with the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Feline_Dispersing_Emitter

As a cat owner, I've brought this up in the past.

Both cat owners and vets know that you don't let cats fight, ever, but apparently it seemed cute to the devs and players doing the quests are given no warning. Once its in your home instance you also can't undo it, you can only activate the item that removes all cats from your home instance altogether.

Of course I just got mocked on the forum and nothing came of it. Things that affect us in real life and translate into the game are so often ignored because "its a video game, its not real".

We're just expected to have not feelings towards anything virtual I guess.

That's why I often feel like I get weird looks for feeling depressed about HoT because so many good people died or got messed up by Mordremoth that I feel like I have less friends. Especially because it was the COOL and FUNNY NPCs that died...

Oh, and Trahearne.

That's false, cat fighting is ok, it's part of the way they are playing, a long as they do it without animosity, usually, cat "fighting" to play are silent. And usually, as long as they are not hissing or scream of pain (who signal animosity and going too brutal), it's better to let them fight.
