As the title states, I'm a completely new to this. I want to know how to go about this.Do I have to complete the triumphant reward tracks 6 times for each exotic? Then get the ascended and comvert it to legendary? How long will it take?

How does the participation work, The decay etc.

What would be the best way or fastest way to get the skirmish tickets and complete reward tracks.

Read the wiki but I was kinda overwhelmed with the information.

Thanks :)

It’ll take 21 weeks and there’s no way to make it faster.

You’ll have to completed the reward track for each armor piece of the armor weight that you want.

You just need tier 3 to earn pips. Generally it’s the fastest to play during off hours when there are less people and you’re more likely to find maps with the outnumbered buff.

If you can maintain that buff, you’ll get at least ten pips per tick. That equates to about 12 hours per week of WvW.

Here's the components list https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_armor#WvW_ComponentsParticipation decay will stop when you leave WvW soon ( mentioned on the recent stream, from Nov 13th I think)You need to unlock the exotic for each slot you want to buy the ascended of , and you can turn the first tier https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Triumphant_Hero%27s_armor,as well as the second tier https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistforged_Triumphant_Hero%27s_armor ( which is locked behind rank)

  1. You have to complete the triumphant reward track for each piece of equipment you want a legendary. With other words, if you want to have only the chest piece of a light armor turned into a legendary you have to complete one reward track and to select the light chest piece as reward. If you plan to do 3 sets (light / medium / heavy), then you must complete the reward track 18 times and unlock all the exotic pieces of armor.
  2. After unlocking the exotic armor you have the right to buy from a vendor in WvW an ascendant armor. This is the precursor of the Legendary armor. Assuming you don't have a WvW rank of 2000, then in order to buy this precursor armor you will need Skirmish Tickets + Grandmaster Marks (20 for each set). After acquiring this precursor you can proceed to turn it into Legendary.
  3. How long it will take? If you complete diamond tier for the Skirmish reward you will need 22 weeks to have enough Skirmish Tickets buy a complete set of precursors and to turn it into Legendary. BUT: the cost of turning the precursor into legendary is way higher than this. If we assume you have all the other materials and you complete the diamond tier every week, then you need 22 weeks.
  4. Participation: Every time you do something helping your server (killing enemy, defending a building, escorting dollyaks repairing walls etc), the participation goes up. In WvW exists 7 tiers of participation from 0 to 6. Taking a keep gives you more participation than killing a sentry for example. So, you build up your participation by doing useful things for your server. The participation starts to decay after a period if you stop the activity - for example if you go on the map exploring it and avoiding any fight/ dollyak escort / objective repair, then the participation decays. In 15 minutes it drops from 6 to 0. From T3 participation you start receiving Skirmish Tickets. This is the only influence it has on the skirmish tickets. On the other hand, the higher the participation, the higher is the number of points you receive for the reward track (in your case the Triumphant reward track). At T6 you complete a Reward Track faster than at T2.
  5. You don't have any possibility to influence the speed the skirmish tickets are rewarded except to raise your WvW rank. No other methods exists.
  6. Don't worry with the reward track - if you are going to reach the diamond every week, then at the end of the 22 weeks needed for the first set of legendary you will already have all the 18 pieces unlocked. Without any special action.

Note: This detail troubled me when I started, so even if you are already aware of it I will mention it: In WvW you have TWO reward tracks: One is the RT you select from the list of available RT. The second is a the Skirmish Reward Track - you have no control over it - this RT is running no matter waht you do and you cannot change it/stop it etc.

Till the moment you will have lvl 2000 I'm sure you will know what is needed for the other (the second) legendary armor from WvW

So, if you really want the armor, then BE PATIENT.

Only for the glowy legendary (mistforged). Don’t need it for legendary itself.

Ah ok, not so bad then for new players.

And less tickets lol. But yeah, a lot of players originally wanted the real shiny one, which is where the misconception started.
