Nabbut.7480
We can still gain kill XP from low level content so why we do not gain it from low-level crafting?
Inculpatus cedo.9234
This may be helpful: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience#Mechanics(Crafting XP does take character level into consideration.)Good luck.
Cyninja.2954
CraftingPer Crafting Level (1-125) 1% of the character levelPer Crafting Level (126-250) 2% of the character levelPer Crafting Level (251-375) 3% of the character levelPer Crafting Level (376-500) 4% of the character level https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience#MechanicsCrafting is a fixed experience dependent on the crafting level performed. It is not even character level based since the experience gained is adjusted to current experience required and as such bringing a craft to max level will always yield 10 levels (no matter if performed at level 2X or 6X). This also means that cooking and jewel crafting (which are currently capped at skill level 400) will yield 10 levels for going from 1-400 in those disciplines. You have not been paying attention to the experience gained TC. Klipso.8653
He's talking about the grey items. If killing a level 1 mob grants XP, if picking a flower grants XP, then why does crafting stop granting XP.

Danikat.8537
As for why they designed it like that I think it's probably for 2 reasons:1) To stop people from only using the cheapest/easiest to get materials and nothing else.2) To encourage you to use the discovery tab and make a wide variety of recipes instead of grinding a few all the way up to level 400/500.
