Gather tool animation & multiple strikes

Hi! I understand that the infinite unbound magic gathering tools are able to gather multiple strikes in a single animation, so if you have the extra gathering strike buff you can gather up to three times from one animation.

Just wanted to know if any others tools behaved this way? Like the cosmic gathering tools?

I am particularly interested in whether there is anything special like this about the cosmic tools available for black lion statues at the moment

Yeah, if you have any extra gathering strike buffs, these apply to all tools, including the infinite ones. This usually allows you to get 1-3 extra gathers in. For ore and log nodes, this is just 1-3 extra strikes after the initial gather; for plants, it's directly after the initial gather and can chain up to 3 times, depending on luck, so you can have as few as 1, and as many as 4 from the same node.

Hmmmm.... Seems there is some confusion.

With a normal tool you have to go through multiple gathering animations for the extra strikes

The unbound gathering tool does all the strikes in a SINGLE animation.

I was wondering if with the cosmic tools for example I will have to go through the animation multiple times like my normal tools, or whether it will gather all the extra strikes with a single animation

Not sure but you always can swap skins on tools now and animation would come with the skin.

Yes, but does the cosmic tool harvest 3 times on a plant node from a single animation the same way as the unbound tools do, or are there any other skins with that added benefit?
