It's broken, no cd means perm 25 stacks of might, condi immunity, and 15k barrier is permanently up. They'll add a cd of 5s next tuesday, so enjoy it this week

Nah, just nerf Necromancer. It is the only class that can abuse this rune that hard. Why should we kill an interesting concept because one class is broken with it when the traits still work fine with an ICD on them?

Why should we nerf a class because Anet didn't think when they changes the runes?

Because the trait in question 'Abrasive Grit' still works completely fine with an ICD of 2 or 3 seconds while preserving the concept of the rune. Everything else is completely fine.

Or they could change the rune without nerfing a class cause Anet can't balance

I actually think this rune is fine. Opening up usability and allowing you to actually utilize it on multiple classes is great. The long cooldown was simply too restrictive. Now they'll have to do some cleaning up, hopefully not just slapping a longer cd on it in case it does turn out to be too good.

The best solution would be to keep both as they are but to simply not let the barrier granted by the rune effect trigger Abrasive Grit or any trait whatsoever.

In WvW maybe (although you will then have to add health via infusions instead), and any other group activity were you require a dedicated healer/supporter. In open world PvE, however, it isn't, because you will want to be doing
a lot
more damage. ;)

This thread was in the WvW forum when I made that comment.

Why rework something again when a simple ICD on a trait fixes the problem and changes nothing outside of that interaction with that specific rune? You won't even notice an ICD of 1 second on the trait in any scenerio outside of using the rune.

Whoever moved it here then totally ruined the logic behind the statement. Sometimes the mods are overly eager it seems. ;)

any
problem in this game.

Assuming 20k HP pool that would be 1k HP per block per sec. Even at best odds on any class you can maybe block 6-7 secs out of 20 secs. So 3-4K in a 10 sec window. That’s one AA from most classes nowadays ?

It is obviously strong but hardly as OP as you make it seem. If they drop it from 5% to 3% it will be fine.
