Classes that can take advantage of the new "Rune of Speed"

Some may call me crazy, but I'm slightly worried about classes that can abuse the new Rune of Speed. I honestly wish DH had swiftness access so I could abuse it lol. Classes with a high uptime on swiftness may become kite gods.

Edit: Someone stated the rune makes it so your speed is at 99% (33% + 66% - yes, added lol!)

I am unsure how it works. I assume that will be only in combat. Still, this puts swiftness half way between where is is now and super speed. If it works outside of combat sPvP will become a decap game. You will literally have to leave 1 person at home node all the time.

I can already see Revs and Holos chasing me at lightning speed swinging their swords

Edit: shudders s/d thieves running rune of speed...

I don't think it's that bad. Yes, vitality is the main stat, but if you were a class that already used a rune like leadership, that won't really matter. Swiftness duration will be up 50 percent, and a nice buff to HP will help mitigate condition damage

not to sure about that because the condi cleanse from an elite and boon duration is what makes us take leadership on holo.

I mostly play warrior, holo and guardian. For sure i would never use this on warrior or holo. And even on Guardian/FB there are a gazzillion better runes out there than this one. I cant believe anyone would want to sacrifice all the other things runes can offer just for vitality and faster run speed. Unless all you wanna do is run away from encounters and decap stuff.

I think there's "unseen" value in movement speed. It's not as apparent as "convert 3 conditions into boons".

Being able to move faster means: better ability to rotate, keep up with enemies, kite, engage faster, avoid damage by moving out of range faster, etc.

Time will tell

Edit: I think this rune will be a good fit for power builds that have decent access to swiftness

Check out my post above to another person. I think there's value that isn't as apparent. I feel like it may have a place in the meta

s/d thieves running rune of speed...

It is not gonna help S/D thieves at all, having no dmg, getting another means of running away is not what we need.

What's there to abuse? It's not like they would run x3 faster or something.

Isn't 66% of 33% is 22%? Which would make the speed bonus 55%? Which means, that a character with Rune of Speed would only run 1.55/1.33=16.5% faster under swiftness, than a character without Rune of Speed and under swiftness boon?Less than 17% difference, man!

I believe swiftness now grants 66% movement speed rather than 33% when using the rune

My guildmate is currently testing in WvW and is just trolling around zooming everywhere while in combat.

Yeah.. 99% indeed, just checked.First Rune of Sanctuary, when Scourges remove 1 condition from themselves and add 2 stacks of might EVERY TICK OF THEIR DOTS. Without a cooldown. Now this.

I don't think I can remember a more ridiculous patch in any game, that I played. Ever.
