Pistols

Engineer's pistol is not meant for Zerkers direct damage, but perform better in condi dps.Pistol AA are just like any other class, just that it sometimes miss aim, same goes with Pistol 2.However, offhand Pistol 4 is one of the highest one click condi Burn skill in the game. It has its own use, but just not glob fight in WvW I suppose.

Pistols might be OK when you are fighting against glorified batch files in PvE but against intelligent opponents with access to a dozen cleanse skills that Pistol 4 skill becomes about as useful as a trailer hitch on a 747

I'm not really talking about them for Zerker direct damage. However, in their role as a mid-range condi weapon they could stand to be A LOT better.

I think it's mostly effective because people don't expect it and never see it coming.This plays like a thief for mobility and stealth, but more importantly: Sigil of Torment is critical for cover conditions.I can't stress this enough. Without Sigil of Torment, one good cleanse yields your burns/bleeds/confusion/poison all moot.

If they made pistol 1 an explosion however ... that would be awesome.
