Weaver Fresh Air detargetting

I'm not sure whether this is weaver exclusive but I find it happens a lot going through damage rotations. Often when I go into Air Attunement twice in rapid succession, the target becomes deselected and I end up Riding the Lightning off a platform or something or Flame Uprising through the target and not doing any damage. In competitive modes this means having to re-select targets and makes combat unnecessarily awkward and missing key damage opportunities that severely puts you at a disadvantage.

In PvE this can be treated by having auto-select target on as this is ideal for most situations instanced content, it's inconvenient to have to manually swap the toggle as you play different modes and the problem remains for open-world PvE, WvW and PvP where there are also many situations where you need auto-select off to control your flight direction.

If it's a bug, maybe you should submit a ticket with a video footage? I can't confirm, but i'd find that annoying.

I just started playing freshweaver again, because everyone does so much damage might as well go all out, eh? Anyway, I have experienced this myself, even on practice dummies.

I am 100% sure it will never be fixed. It is a new feature of playing ele.

Who is everyone you're talking about here? I never see FA Weavers do much damage, I see them die a lot though

But yeah air over arcane on sword weaver is better for now :) and scepter focus weaver was a kind of fresh air weaver dealing tons of dmg that it got nerfed to the ground ^^

Lack of damage or not, zap zap zap on fresh air scepter are key reliable damage moments to bring target low or finish them off when or after you lucked out on landing dragon's tooth or phoenix. The de-targeting bug, however, makes it not so reliable!

In pve, sword's zap zap boom slash slash slash slash slash slash stab is the optimal air/air rotation after fire/water and before going into fire/air but de-targetting turns your boom into zoooooom and you end up far from the boss and not dealing damage while in your sparkle form.

Apparently the earliest reports of this where back in May, it's difficult to describe what exactly causes it tho so I guess it's hard to reproduce and fix.

I don't think it's a weaver only issue either, I've had it happen on a lot of classes where you spontaneously lose target even after you just select them and they aren't a mesmer/soulbeast.
