PVP Match Quitters Penalty

Hi,Long time GW2 player, but new poster on the account here. I started on unranked and instantly found myself in many matches where there were players who didnt load into the match or quitters who decided to leave mid way. Long back i remember that when we had quitters we could also leave a match without any penalties. Today i was in an unranked match where 3 of our team quit during the match, it was really painful staying and trying to play a match where you are testing builds and still getting used to the mechanics vs a premade of 4 players. What kind of logic goes into PVP now that i too ended up getting a 15 min ban for quitting towards the end of the match? for crying out loud we made 13 points vs their 400 some....Why Anet, why is it that 1)We have penalties on unranked?? isnt unranked supposed to be the newbie tier(since you dont even allow ranked till you get rank 20), why are newbies punished more than or equal to a ranked match & 2) Why is there a penalty when there are quitters in a match already? How do you justify the remaining players wasting 15mins of their lives getting killed/losing the match due to no mistake of their own?

The Post was not about getting penalties because i quit, but because i was getting penalty when there was only 2 players left in the team, the rest had already quit, why penalise me for quiting after 3 had already quit the match? What do i learn by sticking around for the whole 15 mins?

This sounds more like a discussion of wanting a 'white flag' or auto lose ability when there's a disconnect of 2min's or more, which many have voiced about before, myself included.First though, it nearly never takes the full 15min in spvp to decide a game unless it's a super close match and since you said there was only a couple of you I assume they have three capped you, so it should have only taken a couple minutes at most to finish the game. Second, you should have read the warning message as you tried to leave, it would have told you you were going to get dishonor.

You also talk about unranked and why it gets dishonor, but you are complaining for the exact reason it does have it. To discourage quitting early. It for sure isn't perfect but it would be 100x worse without it. If your looking just to mess around in an area on different builds you can always go into a custom (which kinda sounds what your wanting anyway).

Agreed, it didnt take the whole 15min to end, but still it was a waste of time and no fun when you are penalised by having quitters on your team. And, i did get the warning, its not bad to be warned and penalised when quitting, its BAD when you are penalised after others have quit and didnt come back since past 10 mins

I should try custom, but then again i need a dual partner to try out, besides, why limit to face only one build/profession when you can face 5 others in a match.

You can learn a lot actually...You can ask to duel players to pass time for example...

Now that I understand your post a bit better, it can suck, it really can but when one door closes another opens...

You should rename your thread to ask about a surrender button and try from that angle.

nothing bugs me more than QUITTERS... if you cant handle losing.. maybe you need to find another activity that doesn't involve other people. like wall ball... or putting a puzzle together.. or coloring a coloring book… its OK if this game is not for you and you cant handle the stress of losing.
