Guild wars 3 ? 2022 ?

The genre is dying, PC gaming is a declining market, and the current generation of kids want games that don’t require much time/effort investment, preferably that they can play on their iPhones. It doesn’t make any financial sense to develop a new MMO. You can see this with Blizzard, the one company that would surely see profits if they were to release a new one, and yet they abandoned their next gen project in favour of things like Hearthstone and Overwatch. That’s where the money is now.

Maybe Anet will use the Guild Wars IP for a single player game, or for some kind of vaguely related mobile game, or maybe they’ll do something that just retains elements of current sPvP but cuts everything else. A full bore GW3 MMO will never happen though.
