Psientist.6437
I thanked myself with a 50% cost copy of Path of Flames and in turn thank Anrenanet for offering such a genuine value. I have earned lvl 3 raptor but don't have any mastery points. I am not complaining, I don't see how to avoid that happening without trivializing mastery points and mounts. I would like my XP to go somewhere. Please consider the following idea and also offer input. The topography of this idea is simple. All excess player XP is considered as currency. The market place is maintained by an NPC vendor. The NPC does not offer items directly for sale. The PC spends their currency immediately and the NPC buys towards upgrades of the NPC's choosing. The purchase could be constrained by how the PC earned the currency. For instance, excess XP earned at wood nodes could be directed towards zone upgrades with a wood narrative. What kind of upgrades could work? For instance, could excess XP earned at resource nodes go toward embellishing fort gates in Silver Waste?
perilisk.1874
Excess XP is used to create legendary and ascended gear or exotics with special skins, to upconvert materials, and some other stuff.I'm sure some people would probably appreciate having more sinks for spirit shards. Leablo.2651
This is a completely unnecessary complication for the simple fact that the ability for regular XP to roll over shouldn't be locked behind a full mastery bar.
Psientist.6437
There are many uses for excess XP and rolling over XP would be a useful addition. My suggestion isn't complicated. Perhaps the most complicated aspect would be convincing some players that routing excess XP to the broader game world isn't stealing their XP. From my perspective, routing excess XP to a Tyrian wide Mastery system would connect players to Tyria and provide a resource that could broaden the scope of the LW. Teratus.2859
Yeah I kinda feel like once you hit the level & Mastery cap your EXP pretty much becomes useless..Sure we get Spirit shards but in all honesty I almost never even use them, they just pile up and pile up.. more or less useless to me.I read somewhere before that someone suggested a PvE reward track system much like PvP and WvW have only with a significantly greater exp sink requirement so it would take a good while to complete.I don't think this is overall a bad idea tbh.. it would certainly be a good way for PvE only players to get those elusive Gifts of Battle that we currently can't get without playing competitive game modes that we don't enjoy or in some cases may even hate. Psientist.6437
This is the simplest asset for my idea I have been able to come up with. My emphasis is on routing excess capacity towards the narrative of Tyria as a shared world and would be more compelling within a NPC narrative. A network of banners distributed throughout Tyria and one or more NPC vendors. The banners could boost whatever and all but have a short duration. The NPC would trade spirit shards for a longer term boost. All spirit shards accepted would go towards permanent increases in the distributed banners. The connection between what the NPC offer and banners offer could be adapted to include type of boost as well as duration. If the NPC sold a general low percentage booster as well as specific high percentage booster then player purchases could be used to evolve what the banners offered. Routing XP directly from a player would provide context for purchases but is not required.
