Calle.8746
This rune doesn't seem to work as it should wich kind of bummed me out cuz' I spent a lot of gold on them. I am making this post to see if anyone else has noticed this or maybe I'm just missing something. (6); +20% Swiftness duration; increase movement speed by 66% when under the effect of swiftness. Now from what I understand it is suppose to increase your movement speed by 66% instead of the standard 33% when you have swiftness. Maybe I got that part wrong and if I do maybe someone could clearify exactly what this rune does? If it should increase your movement speed by 66% instead of 33% it does not work. Now I've spent some time testing these runes and it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. I've been Unequipping and equipping my gear quite a few times while running to see if I notice any difference with no success at all. But fine, maybe the speed boost isn't as big as I imagine, maybe it's barely noticeable. So I started running the same distance a few times with my gear equipped and a few times without it while having a timer running and there's no difference at all. I started running with full swiftness from [&BOMAAAA=] and ran to [&BN8AAAA=]. First without my gear and completed the run in 2m26s then with my gear and completed the run in 2m26s. Now I dunno if my math is off or I don't get how movement speed works in the game but I feel like there should be atleast a difference of a few seconds.Anyone who can clarify my frustration? Is there something off or am I missing something? <3And for anyone else who has thought about getting these runes cuz' it sounds sweet; don't buy them, they're not worth it. If there is a difference in speed you cannot notice it what so ever.
bennypig.6428
There are movement speed cap. The bonus benefit the in combat movement speed but not the out of combat movement speed
Calle.8746
Ah ty fam, that acctually seem to add up. I did not know that lol, wish they would've added "in combat" in the tooltip. Cheers mate
Khisanth.2948
That is close but not quite. It still works out of combat but the it will only bring your speed increase up to 36% before hitting the cap.
decote.1428
i too have put the runes of speed on my toon, and i too have tested the runes every way i could think of, and i have not been able to achieve the noted 66% speed, i only seem to get the 33%. its funny that the skill bar swiftness indicates +99% speed, that would be sweet. After that there can be some variations on what you do. Out of combat the cap is 36%(400/294=1.36)
Illconceived Was Na.9781
The difference between out-of-combat boosted swiftness (with rune) and unboosted (without) is so small that you won't notice it unless you measure it very carefully over sustained differences using the method described by @Khisanth.2948. It's much more noticeable in combat because the initial base speed is so much lower, so a 66% boost can be 'felt' compared to a mere 33%.As a consequence, it's a weak option in PvE these days, but potentially helpful in WvW, either to get out of trouble or to catch up to an opponent trying to get out of the trouble you're bringing.
