Farwind.1796
Once you pick your elite specialization at level 80, and after trying it for awhile you don't like the play style, are you stuck with it until completion of that elite spec or can you at least start the other elite and go that route? As an example, I started a Renegade with my Revenant because I like using the bow, but after playing it a bit I think I might like Herald better. Am I stuck with Renegade until I complete the elite tree or can I start a Herald?
Airdive.2613
You can start learning another specialization at any time.
Trise.2865
You can change your "elite" specializations as easily as changing any other specialization.

I just have to start putting points in the other elite specialization.
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Yes, you can put Hero Points into any non-complete line at any time (after L80).

casualkenny.9817
You could also consider (for future reference) learning the first point in every espec tree, because those unlock the respective espec collection. Nothing beats accidentally getting parts of a collection while running around doing other stuff in the area, adventures, doing dailies etc
Beowulfenstein.5174
Is there a way to unlearn an elite specialization so as to re-attribute the points to another? 1

No. Once spent, the points are allocated in training. You just need to earn more hero points to unlock the new spec.
