So about the World Boss box...

It's basically a rare unid, one or two low level mats and .000000001 percent chance of something cool. Just count on the rare and the mats and you won't be disappointed.

It’ll lower the overall prices of rare infusions on TP at least

Maybe. The market for the items on that high end of the spectrum is controlled by the ppl with enough gold to trade in them, and a lot of those ppl have literally more gold than they can practically use for any in-game purpose. So buying up the new supply of rare items isn't only doable and profitable, but also kind of the only thing all that gold is good for . . .

Note that would still have a positive impact on the game though, as that gold would be transferred from ppl who don't have any use for it to a lucky few who presumably do . . .

So buying up the new supply of rare items isn't only doable and profitable, but also kind of the only thing all that gold is good for . . .That's only true because the supply has been historically low enough that a few people can buy and hoard. We've seen it before: as soon as the supply hits a tipping point, that changes and the markets flood with people anxious to unload theirs before the price drops any more.

That saidSuper Rare drops haven't yet generated enough new supply to hit that tipping point. For example, even for monocles (with supply at 40-70 depending and prices well below 200g), the event hasn't seemed to have budged the price, mostly because the supply remains unchanged.

In other wordsIt doesn't seem to have any impact on the market so far

Note that would still have a positive impact on the game though, as that gold would be transferred from ppl who don't have any use for it to a lucky few who presumably do . . .For me, the positive impact is that people are having fun jumping maps together, despite having just about no chance of seeing a "fun" drop.

Prices won't necessarily drop. I'm going to reference Yugioh here: There is a card called Ash Blossom and Joyous Spring. It's a good card, considered a necessity in the game. For awhile, market price of the card was 40$ on the secondary market. Then, a reprint was made, flooding the market with more copies of the card. Upon this release, the price of Ash Blossom went up to nearly $45. This is in spite of the large increase in supply and the large increase in the number of sellers.

I've only taken basic economics, and this disease has fried my brain, but I believe I have an explanation for this. "Rare" goods, by their own infamy, will cut off a lot of potential buyers. The average person will think "this thing is way too rich for my tastes," and will shy away from the market before attempting to participate in it. But, the release (more importantly, the news of release) will bring in a lot of interested buyers. If the new demand is high enough, it will drive the price up even though supply is increasing.

Calm down captain negavtive. They commented on the rewards as well, just they pointed out another bonus of the event.

Fractal Encryptions still give more t5 resources than this box. If uncommon materials where atleast 5-10 instead of 1, it will be more interesting and little bit more rewarding. Savlaging resources from Boss' loots gives even more benefits.

Chances of infusions are pertty much low, so, arena net, you can atleast reward players with little bit more t5 and t6 materials.P.s. as i understand, this event won't stay forever, unlike fractal encryption boxes.

And there's already a thread where we're discussing the event. No need to send this thread down that path as well . . .

We were discussing the rewards,You were talking about the economic influence of the event, as in, "The market for the items on that high end of the spectrum is controlled ..." If the event drops enough boxes, then those markets will be changed, perhaps permanently.

not the event . . .That economic influence results from the event's popularity and the drop rates for the high end items in the box, i.e. the rewards don't exist outside the context of the event.

And you were agreeing with me so you could insert an unrelated comment about the non-economic aspects of the event that the box drops from :(

Not really.. how many do you think are going to drop over the course of the week - not many at all and of those that might, how many will be listed rather than keep for personal use - some at least of the very, very small amount that actually drop.So the prices will likely stay as they are.. in fact they might even rise a bit closer to max :)

Anet, if you want feedback on the current specific Bonus Event, make an official thread for it rather than waiting for the forums to spam a bunch of them making the feedback process messy and ignorable.

World Bosses aren't really anything worthwhile for time invested. Adding just one rare unidentified and a material drop is comparable to just killing a random mob in the game.

The first thing that's obvious to change is move the monocles and the recipe into the Rare slot. Stop making it possible to get a sub par drop when you managed to roll a Super Rare!

Right click the box and u can preview the contents

Oh didn't realize you can do that, it's inconsistent about what containers let you.

Usually it depends on how much is inside. General containers like champ bags have such vast possible contents, listing them would over fill your screen
