Rukario.1695
This has been brought up a few times over the years and nothing has been done about it apparently, nor any official word from what I can see. So let's get to the details:Apparently it starts from the very beginning and increases lag in very small increments until it suddenly starts hitting the client making it hard to discern what's currently being opened or salvaged. It is not the side-bar showing the items, as even when you sit and wait for all items of the side-bar to scroll by and disappear, the next time you go to salvage or open an item, you will be slammed with the same client-side lag.Logging out to your character select and going back online fixes the issue, but only temporarily. Same goes for quest items or achievements that redirect you to the world map; this will fix the lag temporarily until you open or salvage more items. The lag really starts to hit the client at around 1,500 to 2,000 openings/salvages.So with all of this said, there are a few things to consider - This issue can cause players to salvage or open the the wrong items and that would be horrible. Secondly it cuts into productive time, especially those with slow / unstable internet connections. And most importantly this means it's eating away at player's performance if they do not leave a map while farming monsters and other things, which explains why my client seems to progressively get slower the longer I'm farming a map anywhere at all in the game.I imagine something is not being cleared out of the allotted resources for the client and it needs to be fixed. Again, this is not caused by the side-bar showing what items you have received, or at least not visually, due to the fact that waiting for them to disappear will not help at all.If you have experienced this behavior, please comment below so this can be noticed and hopefully fixed in the near future.
