Mordant Crescent/2nd Spear Nayrim event chains bugged - Can't progress Open Skies collection!

The event chain for Second Spear Nayrim in Desert Highlands appears to be bugged. I waited over an hour around Makali Outpost and it did not trigger. After joining a party in LFG also seeking this event chain, I checked out a group event to Assault the Mordant Crescent at the camp. This is bugged; you can't speak to the NPC to start it, and the Champion baddie is marked friendly and just patrols around.

I am wondering if there is a link between the two. Since the Nayrim events start with the Mordant Crescent assaulting Makali Outpost, and this event is stuck, perhaps that is why the event chain is stalled out.

A fix would be awesome; this is the last thing I need for the Open Skies: Desert Highlands achievement for Zaklem: Rune of Loyalty.

I was in Desert Highlands for two hours last night, and the Second Spear escort came up at least twice during that time. The timing of it seems to vary, though. Dulfy's guide about it says that the Second Spear escort event happens 20 minutes after the Makali Outpost defense event (the one where the Awakened attack the outpost in waves, ending in a champ boss) ends. When I was camping the event a few days ago, it was nearly an hour between the defense event ending and the escort beginning.

If you were only having trouble in one game session, it's possible that it was bugged in your specific instance. But that doesn't mean that it is bugged for everyone in every map instance. Relogging or coming back to that zone later to try to get a different instance could help to get a map where this event was not bugged.

I did try to find another map instance where this was working. After doing various events in an attempt to trigger it and waiting a long while, I went to other maps and then came back later, only to run into the same instance. I did not check my map shard IP to see if they were the same. However I did run into other people who had encountered the same bug.

Same here bt in my case its Open Skies Sunspear Sancutary and it keeps telling me that i hav to gather runes in Elon Riverland..I hav placed down all the runes but since Rune of Honor achievement is bugged for me, Open Skies achievement is not in progress (85%)..I hav submitted tickets about 3 weeks ago but no response at all..

Bugged for me, too. Waited 2 hours at Makali Outpost. Waste of life. Update.

Update: She appeared like 5 minutes after I posted this. Still took 2 hours and 2 defend Makali outposts later.

I'm also having issues with this event not spawning. It's now the only thing a friend and I have to do to unlock the griffon. We've swapped maps multiple times, but couldn't find the NPC anywhere. She's simply not there for us.

This event will not spawn for me either, and it's the last thing I need to earn my griffin mount. Is Arenanet looking in to fixing this bug? Like the others, I have changed maps multiple times, but no luck getting this event to spawn. :(

She doesn't spawn at her door. Try the cave on the opposite side of outpost.

Defence of Makali has terrible spawn times.And in two days Nayim spawned once. I got no further than going to the bloody cave.Not good enough for the griffon achievments.

Sometimes she does but the spawn time is also inconsistent. Sometimes it is only 5 minutes other times I've seen(and been around the map long enough to see) is 20 minutes.

Still a big issue with this event. Waited about 2 hours for defense of Makali to begin last night, then after about an hour for escort and nothing. Ultimately the group just died. I can understand random start times but this is a waste of time that's a necessary evil for the griffon.

At least give us an ability to trigger it even if it requires a group to do it.

Second Spear Nayrim wont leave her house after the defend Diviners Reach outpost ive been waiting for over 2 hrs watching both the house and the spawn point shes supposed to go to. Cant start defend her if she wont leave her bloody house :open_mouth:

I've been waiting just about 2 hours since the defense event. I've been watching events go by. Races, scavenger hunt, got invited to go do bounties, but I can't leave Makali Outpost in case Nayrim shows up. What a waste of my evening.

This still doesn't seem to work very well, first two time she spawned super quick without doing any events. Been waiting for 2hours no did all the events around the outpost but she doesn't spawn....

Another bump. I have been waiting for hours every day for a week for this event to start and nothing ever happens. Something needs to be done since it is limiting progression in the Griffon mount.
