Knighthonor.4061
Dreadnaught brings access to the legendary Varesh Ossa, invoking fearsome Demons and minions from the realm of the Mist to the Revenant’s command. Dreadnaughts fight with Greatsword laying waste to those in their wake. All dread the site of the Demonic army as they torment of the world. Dreadnaught is an elite specialization for the revenant that unlocks the Legendary Dreadnaught Stance. It also allows the revenant to use a greatsword.*Specialization Mechanics:*F2 Nightfall- Toggle ability that transform all your minion skills into it own powers of the Dreadnaught.*F3 Gate of Torment- Summon forth a minion specific to the legend in use. While active Energy regen is reduced by one. This minion can be used regardless of using the Dreadnaught legend.Holding down Minion skills or Dreadnaught skills will consume the minion into a Vortex Portal teleporting you to that location. All Minions from Legendary Dreadnaught stance stay active when which switching legends, and their skills become Minion skills or Dreadnaught skills when toggled by Nightfall. *Legendary DreadnaughtEach Legend skill evokes a Demonic creature, turning the skills into active abilities of the minions. F2 Nightfall toggles the skills into Dreadnaught skills which act independently of the minions. Minions from the Legend skills dont require an upkeep, but their active abilities cost energy, and cost energy to evoke them. Minions stay active when legend is swapped, but their power and health is reduced when not in Dreadnaught stance. Switching to Dreadnaught stance will heal your minions slightly. *Weapon:Greatsword is a AoE Power based Melee Weapon.
draxynnic.3719
Hrrrmn. Could work mechanically, but it really doesn't feel like Varesh Ossa thematically. Kanaxai might be a better fit, although his weapon would be a mainhand axe (but Varesh doesn't fit greatsword anyway).
derd.6413
1) no, because AI2) theme looks like a hybrid between demon stance and necro minions but without it's own identity3) having a minion for each core rev legend is just unrealistic
Dadnir.5038
All in all, we already have both a human and a demon legend, yet the guild wars's world offer a lot more race options. So, I prefer my revenant's minion master spec ;)E-spec name: ApostatLegend name: OratussLore: Oratuss was once a zealous krait priest but ended up turning himself toward dark magic and necromancy after being tainted by black magic. The oppressing might he displayed after becoming an apostat allowed him to suppress it's kin and force them to share it's twisted prejudices, leading the kraits to be the racial supremacists they are now. It's impact on the kraits is still so vivid that they give to their priest the title of "Oratuss".F2: Vile miasma: You are surrounded by a cloud of toxins giving birth to nightmarish snakes every 3 seconds. Nightmarish snakes are similar to necromancer's jagged horrors except the fact that they apply poison on hit instead of bleed on their foe. Max snake: 5. Upkeep cost: -2. Legendary Apostat skills:Heal: Order of the vampire: Heal yourself, you and your minions' the next hit drain life.Order of pain: You and your minions' next 2 hits apply vulnerability.Tainted order: You and your minions gain dark aura for 4 seconds. Break stun.Order of undeath: You and your minions gain 200 point of barrier every seconds. Upkeep cost: -3.Elite: Order of apostasy: You and your minions' next hit corrupt a boon into weakness.Minor traits:Dream corruptor: You can now use the legendary apostat stance and emit Vile miasma.Apostat's madness: Gain 20 bonus condition damage for each minion you control.Tainted dreams: Gain 20 bonus stat for each minion you control based on your current legend. (Oratuss: expertise, Jalis: toughness, Shiro: power, mallyx: vitality, Ventari: concentration)Upper traitline:Frenzied madness: Gain fury 3 seconds whenever one of your minion die.Leg of darkness: You and your minions leave a patch of dark miasma upon being downed. (dark field, minor version of a weapon skill from the spec)Tainted sacrifice: Relinquishing vile miasma sacrifice all minions to give you a burst of energy and a minor healing effect based on your current legend.Middle traitline:Defiled bond: Your minions gain 100% of your toughness.Desecrated Epics: Whenever you invoke a new legend your minions gain a boon based on this legend.Corrupted glory: increase maximum minion to 8.Lower traitline:Veil of darkness: Apply protection whenever you apply dark aura.Undying eccho: Invoking a new legend cause you to use minor order of undeath granting you and your minions 400 point of barrier. Ritual lord: Your orders also affect up to 5 allies in a 360 radius.Immo, it's probably what necromancer special mechanic and DM traitline should have been. What's great with revenant is that it's mechanic can easily allow him to do that.
DonArkanio.6419
Honestly. While the theme doesn't work for me, mechanics could actually do the job! I mean... This is how Renegade should have been. But nonetheless, great idea, I could see skills working like this!

Not everything is necessarily going to be closely linked to what the Commander happens to be doing, and with revenant being a completely new profession, we're unlikely to enter a region that has been out of contact with Tyria for a while and find they've already developed their own revenant variant. It makes sense, given how 'young' the revenant profession is, that every so often there'll be a new legend discovered in central Tyria rather than everything being local to the region the story is currently focused on.Heck, I found it a little artificial myself that all of the other elite specialisations in PoF were linked to Elona. The 2 main villains of the plot are Balthazar (god of war and flame) and Krakaltorik. Balthazar fit the warring nature of the charrs and Krakaltorik is the main worry of the charrs as a race in this trouble years. What could be more fitting than a Charr legend to help you fight back against those 2?If we were fighting against Primordius, obviously we would think about dwarfs, but the other race that is antagonist to this elder dragon is the Asuras. If it was Jormag, the Norn's lore would fit things the best. Only the deep sea dragon don't have a truly fitting antagonist among the united tyrian races (or playable races). Only the deep sea dragon don't have a truly fitting antagonist among the united tyrian races (or playable races). One could draw other links, too:For instance, Balthazar and Abaddon are the reasons why the Flame Legion came to power in the first place. Balthazar was, apparently, the one who drove the humans to go to war against the charr in the first place (I personally think there are hints floating around that the human assault on the charr wasn't an unprovoked land grab, but Kalla would be looking at it from a charr perspective), while Abaddon was the one who empowered the Flame Legion to take charge. So Kalla's personification would certainly have incentive to get involved in Path of Fire, especially when you add in the general charr enthusiasm at the prospect of deicide. There's also an undercurrent of rebellion through Path of Fire and the first half of Season 4, which makes a legend who established herself through a successful rebellion a good fit. One could certainly argue that Turai Ossa is a closer fit, but he doesn't really have his own legend - instead, he's a temporary setback for Palawa Joko's legend (a legend that the revenant PC is only willing to tap into just this once) and someone who mistakenly thought he might be one of the Ascended heroes of the Flameseeker Prophecies (which would be overlapping with Glint).Sure, she's not explicitly related to Elona, but most of the Heart of Thorns elite specs weren't directly related to the Mordremoth or Season 3 storylines either.
