well it was refreshing to have a friendly conversation rather than just crying at eachother over mundane and trivial arguements in a futile effort of self worth while simultaneously laying down belittling comments or bigotry.

having a friendly thread in general is also a nice change of pace.

Isn't the concept of Alpha wolf been debunked?

how's debunked?

Check out Adam Ruins Everything for Alpha Males. The concept of an Alpha Male was made up (with sources)

what?

was the term "alpha male" sexist or something?

No its trying to make it socially politically incorrect to use the term alpha male by using a flawed study of some wolves in captivity long ago. That same study ignores that many other mammals have alpha males. Prime example "LIONS",,,,,

Saying it doesnt exist doesnt somehow make it go away. But we have become such a society that we can keep telling ourselves a lie thinking we can get everybody to then believe the lie and ignore the reality.

It works mostly because of social conditioning started in pre school by femnazis, then constantly re-inforced. Seems they trying to create a nation of soy boys that can be brow beaten into submission

telling people to do things isn't exactly strenuous activity tho lol

Leadership is not only telling people what to do, but also getting them to do it. How you manage that is where the difficulty lies. You can get them to believe in you and your mission; give them enough or sufficient reward to do what you want them to do; pressure them to do it through fear, intimidation, and/or awe; or a combination of all of the above. All of these paths take constant work and effort.

So agreed a commander does nothing alone, but an effective commander can get the best out of followers. Those standing shoulder to shoulder with the commander have bought into the commanders' mission, willing helping lead the charge. On a side note, I find it funny how people only mention an alpha male leadership style. As a woman, I have seen female alphas directing a group and it is no less threatening.

Regarding male/female alphas, humans have been historically patriarch, hence alpha male is the most used. But there are animals which have alpha females, for example hyenas. They even have a structure where the lowest rank female tend to be above the highest ranked male.

Anyway, the correlation between animal alphas and human leadership has always been very sketchy. In most cases, alphas act more like medieval kings/emperors rather than current leaders. They tend to avoid responsibilities or spending time orientating the rest of their team, but they are the first to claim food or sexual reproduction, spending the rest of their time making sure everybody else understands they have the biggest ego around.

And the clearer example is this thread. OP was talking to the ignorance pugs tend to have regarding work and difficulty of commander's job, and yet the first answer was to relate it to alpha member concept, which has nothing to do with what OP was talking about...
