Xolotl not transforming you when in Death Shroud

exactly what is said on the tin... when fighting Xolotl (from the Champion of the Sun event-thingy) and they tried to transform me when i was in Death Shroud (a Necromancer skill), it would just take me out of Shroud instead of transforming me into a beast... i do not know if this is intentional, unintentional but game mechanics working the correct way, or unintentional and the game not working as intended.
