Angelweave.1856
When Silverwastes first came out it really felt like dying had a consequence, as it was a long way to get back to where you were .The new maps seem to have the same design philosophy of very few way points.Though now that we have mounts to me the lack of way points feels tedious/annoying rather than a consequence. Dante.1763
So...its making death have meaning then? Look i hate the lack of WPs too, but for different reasons.
Khisanth.2948
The only consequence to fewer WP is just making it tedious. Actual consequences for death is easy and there isn't any need to mess with waypoints. Put the fight in an enclosed space. Once you die then you are dead. No ressing(like in raids). No way to re-entery. If you are not alive when the boss dies then you get nothing.
Trise.2865
Setback IS the consequence. Literally.
Just a flesh wound.3589
If having a few waypoints and no mounts made dying have a consequence and having a few waypoints with mounts makes dying tedious/annoying then it sounds like what would make dying consequential again for you is removing all waypoints but one per map. Tommo Chocolate.5870
Why is travelling back to where you were more tedious/annoying with mounts than it was on foot? Surely it is less so?@Just a flesh wound.3589 said:If having a few waypoints and no mounts made dying have a consequence and having a few waypoints with mounts makes dying tedious/annoying then it sounds like what would make dying consequential again for you is removing all waypoints but one per map. Handsel.2891
I'm not sure if you want more waypoints or less. For you, where's the balance between feeling annoyed and suffering a consequence? Do you want to be able to get back to a fight as soon as possible or do you want to be punished more harshly for dying in the first place?
kharmin.7683
No one is forcing you to use waypoints or mounts.
Me Kill You.9035
I feel like SW is super easy to get around though, it's essentially totally flat for beetle or easy griff flying.

Or removing mounts...True trueWhat the OP should reasonably do is restrict himself. After death he should use only the farthest waypoint on the map and he shouldn’t use mounts to get back. That way death will have consequences for him again, getting back to the fight will not be annoying or tedious, and he won’t have to ask ANet to change the game to make it more fun for him. magnusthorek.8027
What would be the point in having more WPs if, considering the messed up "contesting" system (I'm looking at you, Orr) you'd probably having to port somewhere else, maybe even far from the action, and run/ride back to fray. The current expansion did the same.
Angelweave.1856
hummm... maybe to clarify.Silverwastes with no way points made sense to meThe new maps now we have mounts... it doesn't make sense to meI can't see Anet with some nefarious plan to force people to buy mounts. kratan.4619
Lack of way points in the new zones is a direct result of having mounts added to the game. The older zones never needed mounts because of so many way points, but people cried that they needed mounts so they added them anyway.
