arkinia.6952
I'm a returning player after several years and have never purchased an outfit. My question is, do they increase in level similar to Wow's Heritage Armor? If I equip an item higher in traits than the outfit, does the outfit increase, as well? My gut tells me you shouldnt use them until you hit 80 and if so, how do you keep them increasing in traits? Very confused.
DeanBB.4268
Outfits have no attributes and just cover over your armor. Pure cosmetic. The underlying armor has the attributes.
Danikat.8537
Outfits are essentially an overlay - they're a one-piece costume which can't be customised except for dying it and which has no effect on your stats. You can change the armour you're using without affecting the outfit (you could even be wearing no armour at all and the outfit would still show). However not everything in the gem store is an outfit. They do also sell armour skins, which work differently. These are applied to a specific piece of armour and change the appearance of only that piece (I believe the equivalent WoW term is 'transmog'). If you replace the armour with a different piece you'll change the skin as well and you'll have to use the wardrobe system and pay 1 transmutation charge to get the appearance back. You'll never lose the skin, once you've got it the wardrobe will save it forever so you can use it as many times as you like, but keeping the same skins on your armour as you level up would take a lot of transmutation charges. You can get those free, mainly from login rewards and map completion, but unless you're logging in regularly but not playing that character much I think you'd have to buy charges to keep changing your skins as you level up.So if you want a consistent look while levelling make sure you're buying an outfit and not an armour skin. Randulf.7614
Yeah as said above, they are great for levelling because you don't need to keep transmuting your armour underneath when you upgrade. You can keep the look between 1-
Murshid.9854
Outfits here are more if an static skin overlay that gives you some skin and don't care about what you equip or what is your level, some can be dyed but mostly they don't, outfits replace your entire gear skins except weapons and back, so if you want more customization then go for armour skins. I wish I had asked first. However, your explanation wasperfect. Thank you!!
