I thought one shooting was gone

I was trying, friend... but it's so squishy a Soulbeast killed me 3 times over with 3 abilities. Ended this mans entire static discharge career :joy: . And like I said in another thread. No one is running anything to even threaten a glassy ranger from a distance. No mesmers, no thieves, no pew pew, no pulls, nothing with offensive ports. Why run anything but glass when people aren't even trying to deal with it?

Also, this isn't conquest. My only job is to kill you. It's not a 5v5 so I'm not gonna just get cleaved out when I get into melee range. It's not conquest so there's no node forcing me close to you. I can just kite to my hearts content. This is like minj scale WvW roaming. Once everyone stops playing the bulldozer game, the more offensive/mobile specs will be doing work. So again no incentive to run less glassy. Ranger isn't held to the same standards in 2v2s as conquest... no class is.

Yes I didn't go into great detail like you, but these are the reasons why there's no incentive for any Rangers to NOT run one shot builds.

6 initiative in pvp and wvw. Your photo is wvw where damage is higher. It is fairly hard to get that damage on vault in pvp. An ok staff build rn is staff/staff with valk and daredevil rune for 100% crit for vaults, the problem with this build is that it’s useless in 2v2s if they dodge and block enough and even if it hits it usually does like 8-9k for a good hit which is about what you get on golems. A lot of the time it’ll be lower like 6-7k but I’ve had it hit for up to 13k on necros in 2v2 though they must’ve been on a squish build.Thief can burst ok atm as damage modifiers are a thing if I’m say core dp with valk and hidden killer I can got probably at highest 9k backstab and maybe a 6k heart seeker in 1 combo plus like 1k from venom and besides vault builds that’s about as high as it’ll go in a match plus it loses out on mug damage.Pretty much the problem with one shot or specs similar like thief which is more similar because it’s a hit and go style with stealth is the modifiers and how can u get the best modifiers to do that. In the case of ranger the modifiers can be way higher hence damage u see in this post but the builds are usually pretty bad in competitive style format so that just leaves us with thief for meta 1 shot builds, but thief isn’t really one shotting ppl unless they are also zerkers, which btw is funny asf when u one shot the zerker dp DrD. It just a hit and go style now and it’s super good in team fights but since it lost real 1 shot potential it’s no where near good enough to 1v1 ppl making less viable especially since perma stealth technically requires taking so much stealth that you lose all utility.I honestly think ppl need to reconsider if thief burst is too high, rangers might be but these things aren’t actually good for 1 shooting outside of wvw and not even that high ranked matches, also they are bad in 2v2s

staff build isnt viable for real, I tried. I can do like 13k with vault, but that is it, easily dies, isnt worth at all.

Staff dies easily? Staff/staff is like the tankiest thief build rn it van side node ok too, though viability will probably be based on how well it can survive a plus 1. Maybe we are talking a different build?

Again staff/staff with a tanky amulet can hit that hard and tbh if they didn’t nerf the condition clear +heal trait I’d actually argue it being incredibly viable ...

Its both. Its been 6 initiative in PvP for a while now, I guess the most recent nerf only made it 6 initiative in WvW as well.
