Pvp badged /tittle on forum

Recommended Posts

I don't see any reason why it should be implemented though? It would become witch-hunting and very toxic: "lol, you don't even have title for top 250, why you even talk here?" or stuff like that.I do believe that A-net even without that "feature" still can check who have what rating without much problem if they really wanted to know such thing.Another thing is there is a lot of cheesers or/and wintraders so that thingie on forum would have even less value.

We can read out some of the data as well, such as AP, region (NA/EU), server. In addition we can see when you have last changed your forum avatar, whenever you collect any new badges, we can also see when you get banned. If I want that info about you, I can get it easily. But it does not improve anything at all. It just creates prejudices about your personal character. Even forum avatars have that effect.

We had a similar request a while ago, someone asked to display hours played below the avatars. So he could decide if the answer was worth reading or not.

This is a discussion board. Everyone has one voice and one vote in polls. Ranking forum members would ruin our open culture. We can openly discuss suggestions from both newbies and veterans, without knowing who is who. Some people played for years, but recently created a forum account.

Same as ingame, reaching any kinds of badges/trophies only proves that you reached that. You can be a lovely fella or a toxic nightmare, you can be a skilled veteran or a clumsy scrub. You got that trophy somehow, that is it.

In earlier years this would have been a good indication of clout. But nowadays, in no way shape or form does rating or APs matter anymore for determining what a forum user's level of experience, skill, or practical knowledge is.

  1. The match making is completely botched.
  2. A strong player could 3 man queue only and be 1600 rating or he could yolo only and be 1450 rating.
  3. Match manipulation is real. Many high rated players get there through just the right amount of dosage to carry them there. And there a lot of players who get screwed with in this low population queue because they got on the wrong side of the fence vs. people who do a lot of alt throw tactics.
  4. Alt accounts are real. Careful who you discredit, you could be pointing at a very old player who has 20,000+ games played in Guild Wars 2.

Besides that, going into year 9, everyone should know by name alone, who they should or shouldn't listen to. If you do not, consider that you may not know this game and its community as well as you think you do.

I think all players regardless of rank or rating should be entitled to have an opinion on which direction they want the game to go. After all, they are a player who can have an experience while playing. A certain build might never be seen in higher ranks but might be plaguing lower tiers.

If forums ranks were introduced it would only encourage toxicity.

Yes please, show titles. Nothing better than elitism built into the forums design. After all making actual arguments to back up your opinions is tiresome, when you can just go "shut up you low plat kitten, im top 50". Saves you all the effort to actually debunk/argue/make a case at all, and you can solve the situation with toxicity alone.
