Returning engineer,looking for some guidance

Hello all,Im back from a 3 year break. Id like to play my engineer again,however i have yet to unlock the new elite specializations. Whats a good spec to run until i can unlock them? Also i plan on doing wvw and pve,so which specialization is gonna let me survive the best? Im not that great at swapping between a million different kits
