Hello I am a guild leader with members on multiple servers/worlds. We want to do some of the WvW guild missions can party members join on same map of leader to do the mission battle instead of being on opposed teams? Many members do not want to changer their current server/world any help would be greatly appreciated.

pretty sure you have to be on the same server for that to work.

maybe EotM works (edge of the mists) for your plan, but u gotta test that out.

what is definitely not possible: u cannot be with them on the same side, if u are within the same matchup. even EotM works only, if u guys are on the same color in your respective matchups. and even then, idk if that counts for guildmissions.

Short answer: No. Not possible.

Long answer: WvW works a little bit differently than the rest of the game. At game launch (year 2013), everyone had their "Home Server" chosen at the character creation. Everyone you saw in any map, was exactly from the same server. After some time, ArenaNet released "megaserver principle" - mixing up the entire region (NA, and second region, EU) playerbase into one "mega server", to get rid of low-populated mapzone instances.

WvW, for obvious reasons, cannot become "megaservered", "Home Server" still apply for WvW, and only players from the very same server (or, if WvW-linked, then from linked server too) can join themselves in same WvW map. Still, you can have ppl from different servers in the party (considered as"potentional spying activity" by hardcore WvW ppl), but they cannot join the same side, and would be by game engine considered as enemies, when they will meet themselves for example in EBG map in the case if they will be in the same match-up. Not 100% sure about guild participation, but i think enemies are not considered as "members participating in Guild Event" by the game engine.

If you really insist on your guild WvW teamwork, the only possible way of all your guildmates would meet in the same map on the same side is that all of them MUST have the same "Home Server".

Dont know about EotM.

You can not not. This is what Alliances is meant to fix.

That is why the 2.5-year old announcement thread of that 6-year old project is constantly updated by players in this forum and mostly why WvW players seem unhappy in every other exchange with players in this game. We can not play with our friends who are now scattered over numerous servers. It sucks.

@"Faenar.8036" from what i remember, on EotM there's the megaserver rules. everyone of NA and EU that was last week on first placement gets "overgrown", means green side of the map in EotM etc

how it exactly works however is a mystery... like much with anet's stuff tbf.

Alliances only fix that, allegedly, if the guild is marked as the WvW guild. This is so the system knows which of the 5 possible guilds an account will be doing WvW with since one can only be on one team at a time.

All the members from random PvE and PvX guilds won't be put on the same teams automatically nor immediately. Guilds will need to plan ahead.

That's not how it works. Every server in wvw green blue red sides in the "current" matchup, is sorted to those same colored sides in eotm, and NA and EU are still split from each other.

I just had (couldn't resist) to correct you on that, you're wrong. The game officially opened to the public for 3-day head-start on the 25th of August, 2012 (for people who pre-ordered or pre-purchased), and on the 28th of August, 2012 for those who didn't preorder or prepurchase...

The rest seems correct :)

And EoTM (as DEAD as it is now-a-days) is a "WvW 'megaserver'" and the way it works is; if your team is RED this week in "REAL" WvW, then you're going to be RED in EoTM too... So the ONLY way you'd be able to "meet up" with friends from other servers, AND "be on the same team"; well, they'd also have to be on a "home world" that is the same "color" that week. Then it would work ;) :)

But yes, WvW is literally the ONLY reason for "home world" now so, there's NO reason that EVERYONE shouldn't be able to organize on ONE specific server together, whether friends, guild, etc...
