Runic Cape has weird red tint which does not go away even if no red is present in colors

It has to do with your graphic settings. I had the same issue with an older computer with low graphics setting compared to my primary computer with maxed settings.

Specifically the Best Texture Filtering checkbox and whether you have Render Sampling set to super sample.

The render has to be on super sample and the best texture filtering checkbox checked to remove the red. I don’t know enough about this specifically as to why you have to do this to not get the red.

Read up on it some more and it’s an issue caused by how Anet does dye channels. It’s been an issue for quite some time and probably won’t get resolved.

Tried that. Tried more combos and variations of high settings, medium and low. still the same. Even adjusted monitor colors. But I guess this won't be resolved like you said, sadly. Just kind of feels like the product isn't as advertised. The dye channels exist for variation in color. Forcing a color despite dye channels doesn't seem right.

As the devs have pointed out in the past, all dyable items use red as their base color, all other colors are modulated from it. This means that you'll sometimes see artifacts in the red color spectrum; undyeable items with fixed skins aren't affected.

The quality of your dyes will make the most impact, as rarer dyes use better shaders.

"The quality of your dyes will make the most impact, as rarer dyes use better shaders."I use shadow abyss and electro blue (both exclusive and rare dyes). Slight change but not that much in comparison to lower-tier dyes.

"It may depend on dyes chosen, as some dyes change color when applied to certain textures. "This seems to be the case because the red tinge seemingly melded with whatever color there was.

"The cape has that red tint, it's part of the skin, which is why it only looks good in red, brown, and green colors."Limiting to certain colors is a bummer but Hannah's point about dyeable items using red as their base color makes sense.

I guess I will have to experiment with dyes that are made up of some amount of red and work with that. Thank you for your insights.
