Lynx.9058
What level do you start getting access to the necromancer pets, and do they have limited duration, or disappear when leaving combat like mesmer clones?Noob questions I know, just trying to scope out the classes still
SoftFootpaws.9134
You unlock them gradually over time just like all skillsets. The minions are activated using six(I think?) skills, so it takes a while before you have them all just like on any class, and once you summon them they're permanent until killed. They only disappear if you sacrifice them, leave the map, or mount/remount too fast. Taril.8619
Once you get level 11 you unlock the ability to spend Hero Points to access utility skills, including Minions.Obtaining them all requires level 31 as the final minion, Flesh Golem, is an Elite Skill which only unlocks at said level.Necromancer minions do not have a limited duration. They last until they die, you die, you change zones, you enter water (Without said minions also equipped in your underwater skill set) or upon mounting occasionally. The exception is Flesh Wurm, since as it cannot move, moving too far away will cause it to die (Other minions will follow you and will teleport to you if you move too far from them)

The things you mentioned are specific mechanics that don't have much to do with the characteristics of a minion master, that usually refers to the minion utility skills. jpsssss.7530
the minions summoned by the grandmaster trait in death magic also have a life time of 30 seconds, but they're free on kills so you shouldn't complain about those.
