Thief Elite spec idea (Focus OH or MH)

So if anyone has seen Hunter x Hunter, one of the protagonists called Chrollo Lucilfer has the ability to 'steal' other's magical abilities, storing them and using them for himself, I thought that this could be a cool concept for Thief where one could have a skillset based on stolen abilities from all the other classes, making him a jack of all trades

From the HxH wikipedia:Chrollo's Nen ability allows him to steal the Nen ability of other people to use them as his own through a conjured book known as the "Bandit's Secret"

This would look extra cool with the The Binding of Ipos Legendary

While a cool concept it would cause too many balance issues, because your effectiveness would depend on who you were in a fight with. If you are building for power or condi in your armour/weapons/trinkets, but the skills you have stolen aren't compatible you'll be fighting with a dud skill set.

I was thinking a set of our own new abilities which resemble other classes rather

I get where you are coming from, though Jack of all trades, usually is balanced with master of none. Making you mediocre

Quite a pessimistic view, the balance of the class dictates that, so its rather subjective at this point to make that statement

Well going by the balancing track record, I hold very little hope for a jack of all trades specialisation being well made or balanced. Either it'll be too strong and get nerfed to the ground like most of thief's history or be so mediocre people with just pass over it.
