FERVID.2741
I own the basic version of the game and HoT/PoF, I want to upgrade to the Ultimate version of the game. I know there's no direct "upgrade" to ultimate, but if I purchase the Ultimate version while owning the basic version, will that then upgrade my account to Ultimate also? Or do I need to make a whole new account?
Charrbeque.8729
Nope. You would have to make a new account for an Ultimate version.https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010688287-Guild-Wars-2-Path-of-Fire-FAQQ: If I purchased the Standard Edition of Path of Fire, can I upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate edition?A: You can purchase the digital Deluxe Edition upgrade through the Black Lion Trading Company (the in-game store) using gems purchased in the game. The Ultimate Edition of Path of Fire, on the other hand, must be purchased as a complete edition; the Standard and Deluxe Editions cannot be upgraded to the Ultimate Edition.(Note: it's the same situation for HoT)The only difference between the deluxe and ultimate is ultimate gives 4,000 gems for basically half price.
