Percius.5741
Hello all,I just wanted to alert everyone about some misleading marketing done by Arena Net during this Black Lion Key (BL keys) sale.Currently, BL keys are on a 30% sale and are going for 87 gems per key or in bundles of 5 for 315 gems and 25 for 1,470 gems. These prices are 30% off of their original prices. However, underneath the prices are the original rates with strikethroughs to show that they are what Arena Net are claiming are the original prices. These are incorrect. They claim that the 5 key bundle was 625 gems and the 25 key bundle was 3125 gems. These are the prices of if you buy the keys individually rather than the bulk (so if you buy 25 keys individually, it would come out as 3125 gems). The original prices for the bundles can be found on the Guild Wars 2 Wiki page. Here are some screenshots:Screenshot of in-game gem store with incorrect bundle prices underneathScreenshot of the wiki with the correct prices While you are not getting scammed if you these BL keys during this sale, the incorrect numbers listed below the prices still mislead the consumer by tricking them into believing they are getting a better deal than what is actually the case. Please, if you plan on buying keys during this sale, be aware that this is the case.To Arena Net: please fix this as it is kinda misleading. You're saving 30% off of the bundle, so the bundle price should be listed underneath. Not the price of if you buy every single key individually.Thank you all for reading. Percius.5741
The post is mostly just to inform people that this is a thing that's happening, and to not be fooled.

That -30% discount is actually -30% discount and not more?
Loboling.5293
Thanks for this. I didn't know what the original prices were, but I thought it might be a bug. Glad someone reported this.
Tommo Chocolate.5870
Posters on this forum have a habit of shouting down any and all opinions, and I'm somehow unsurprised that some of them have now taken to shouting down facts as well. I agree that this is potentially misleading or confusing, and should be fixed.@"Inculpatus cedo.9234" said:This is the way all discounted items are listed, and have been since launch. Haha, yes, . You realise this makes it worse, right?
AgentMoore.9453
This gets mentioned every year, and I really do wish they'd adjust it. People are gonna buy keys when keys are on sale for any amount. It's what people do. Using this weird marketing is totally unnecessary and feels bad. Ayrilana.1396
No different that Amazon, or other retailers, who use the list price which is almost never the price that anything is ever sold at when factoring in the savings.
