Coming back to GW2, have zero expansion, what should I focus on for now?

My only 80 is an Engineer and things have changed a lot since I've been gone. I don't have any expansions (will be getting upgraded shortly), what should I focus on?

I did a lot of PvP and want to get into WvW pretty bad. No idea where to start.

engineer didn't change. Build wise Path of fire brings the holosmith (one new trait line + ability to use a mainhand sword and few abilities) wich is i'd say 90% of builds in pve

I have recently returned and am playing catch up on both storyline and my new found love of WVW (i played wvw - Cyrodiil in ESO since it started).I couldnt get on with Holosmith but love the scrapper and only need to make a few adjustments between pvp/pve.

For solo questing and roaming in WVW scrapper just has everything fun! bombs, mortars, a decent invis (in pve anyway) and it suits my playstyle which is more about fun these days than getting too hung up when i get owned :)In WVW i would recommend getting the warclaw (mount) as soon as you can, it doesn't feel like a super speedy way to travel but certainly helps.I used to love guarding keeps in ESO and in GW2 you actually get rewarded for doing it!
